Riverwood Designs
Riverwood Designs is the creative partnership between Joseph and Robert, who bring vibrant energy and a unique perspective to every event they plan and design. Joseph, a full-time Certified Wedding and Event Planner and floral designer, excels in wedding day logistics, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience for the couple and their guests. When not creating floral designs, Joseph diligently works on wedding planning and logistics for clients, Monday through Thursday. Rob, a Signature Wedding and Event Designer, is passionate about floral and fashion design, blending classic garden-inspired elements with modern trends.
Rob, a native Virginian, and Joseph, originally from Texas, began their life journey together with a simple wedding ceremony in Washington, D.C., on July 20, 2012. Since then, they have transformed their home, Riverwood Cottage, into a hub of creativity and celebration, hosting various social events and gatherings that reflect their love for hosting and entertaining. Community involvement is integral to Riverwood Designs. Joseph and Rob actively participate in local non-profits and community organizations, including Arts on Main, the Garden Club of Virginia-Gloucester Mathews chapter, and the Gloucester Arts Festival.

So grateful for Riverwood Design's talent and care
We cannot recommend working with Riverwood Designs enough! We worked with Joseph to plan our wedding and create florals for our wedding in October 2025. From when we first connected in May 2025 over an around an hour phone call - one of the most friendliest and most pleasant calls I have ever had - I knew that working with Joseph as our coordinator and florist was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding and this season of life. Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but Joseph made the entire process feel calm, organized, and genuinely enjoyable, meeting virtually several times over the course of the planning process and answering any question or concern promptly over email. His attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to anticipate needs we didn't even know we had gave us complete peace of mind in the lead up to and on our wedding day. On our wedding day, he was so kind and encouraging, kept us on schedule, and ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment without stress. As a florist, Joseph brought our vision to life in the most beautiful way. The florals - our bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces - were so stunning, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly suited to our style and venue. My bouquet was beyond anything I could have imagined or dreamed of, and every aspect felt intentional and arranged with so much care. Beyond his experience and talent, Joseph was so kind, responsive, and genuinely wonderful and a joy to work with. His passion and care were evident in ever detail he touched. He made us feel so supported every step of the way, and we are so grateful for everything he did to make the planning process and our wedding day so perfect. We cannot recommend working with him highly enough! Thank you, Joseph!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Riverwood. They supported us with day of coordination as well as our flower services. They're the type of people that have already solved a problem before you bring it to them, and will take your ideas and somehow make them better than you pictured on your day of. They're super easy to work with, and respond quickly to get your day running smoothly! Couldn't recommend them more, or be more thankful for everything they did for us!

Nothing short of perfection!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience planning a wedding with Riverwood Designs! They guided us through the entire planning stage, making sure we knew what to get and when to get it. We had frequent meetings where they helped us create a floor plan and an itinerary. Their customer service was excellent the entire time! When it came to the day of, they really blew me away! Just incredibly helpful with decorations and so on top of everything, they kept the day running smoothly. Truly couldn’t have pulled it off without them. Trust me, you’re in safe hands! 10/10, would recommend :)

I just want you to know how much I appreciated the help and support of Joseph from Riverwood Designs!! I don’t know how I would have gotten through this beautiful wedding day and the preparations without him! We knew we could relax and enjoy the moment because of his vigilance! The flowers were also done by Riverwood Designs and were beautiful! The attention to detail was incredible! Fresh flowers in silver bowls were surrounded by votives and made for a magical setting as the sun set! Thank you! Thank you!! It was a real pleasure to work with you, Joseph! I can’t say it enough!!
