They accommodated us and we had the ceremony outside on their property since there were no permits available for the grass area nearby. Suzy and Riley were incredible with their communication, planning and help throughout the process and we were blown away with the setup the day of the wedding...they far exceeded our expectations! They explained everything well and give you a binder to give you reminders and outlines for what you need to get done for planning. I had Mikayla as my day of coordinator and Sierra as my Captain who took over during and after dinner- both of them did a fantastic job and took care of everything for us. I would highly recommend using Wedgewood Weddings as your venue of choice as the packages they offer the include the food, drinks, ceremony and reception space, DJ, and cake bakery are wonderful and so easy to have it all in one place and in one bill. Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. Sherry Horton, owner of Oakwood Creek Celebrations, offers signature style that everyone—no matter their affair—will find "oh so easy". Growing up in rural Ohio, Sherry brings the style of country that is reminiscent of simpler gracious time, learning from her grandmother Emma Barrett of all things romantically beautiful. “Oakwood Creek made our wedding dreams come true...if you are looking for a rustic, charming, cozy, and intimate venue, look no further - you have found it in Oakwood Creek. As a couple that paid for our wedding ourselves, finding the perfect venue, location, setting all within budget started out challenging. But after one tour at Oakwood Creek, we knew right away we found our venue. (It actually was our first and only tour, that's how certain we were.) We had 35 guests (planned for 40) and it was the perfect size. My husband and I only wanted our closest friends and family so this venue was perfect for us. We were able to get plate rentals through the venue and coordinated all of our vendors through Oakwood Creek. The entire team at Oakwood Creek is amazing. I definitely had a few moments of tears before the wedding after 100% rain was forecasted on my wedding day but the team pivoted everything indoors for the reception and we were able to do the ceremony outside. They all kept me grounded and answered every single one of my questions (there were MANY) lol! If you are looking for not just a stunning venue but also a wonderful and kind team that will make the best day of your life even more memorable, definitely schedule a tour at Oakwood Creek and book your wedding day now!”

“Let me start off by saying, I was a girl who never cared to get married, until I found Sacred Mountain Julian. I knew immediately from their photos, I needed to book my wedding there. Right when they announced their 2023 reservations were open, I immediately booked a walk through and basically booked my fall wedding. First off, the Sunset Plateau is so amazing and breathtaking to say your vows. I specifically told my photographer that I wanted to take as many photos possible on the property. Every area offers photos ops of your liking. The team there is amazing to work with. I recommend visiting the property to see the beauty for yourself.”

Tables & chairs are not included.  *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. “We have so many good things to say about the Ole Firehouse, we’re not sure where to start. In a gorgeous location with mountain and lake views, the Ole Firehouse is just a short drive from Julian. The venue has a HUGE amount of space inside and out—in addition to the main indoor-outdoor area, there’s a getting-ready room upstairs, a fully functional kitchen for any catering needs, plenty of parking, and a beautiful outdoor deck. The staff is easy to work with and very relaxed, which was such a pleasant change from other venues that insist on monitoring your every move. Getting to access the venue for three days for set-up and tear-down was also a game-changer. And finally, all of these amenities—including tables and chairs—came at a seriously amazing price. Bottom line: if you want a stress-free, beautiful space to host a wedding or a reception, book the Ole Firehouse ASAP! We feel so fortunate that we were able to celebrate our special day in this one-of-a-kind venue.”
