The Flowr Studio

5.0

West Hartford, CT
  • Starts at $2,000
  • Serves Connecticut

Hi there! I’m Josslyn, a Connecticut-based wedding florist and the founder of The Flowr Studio, a Latina-owned floral design studio rooted in artful and intentional design. I love creating florals that feel organic and inspired by nature, with a balance of garden style and modern elegance. Every arrangement is a chance to express creativity, tell a story, and bring beauty into a moment that matters. Our name, The Flowr Studio, comes from the idea of flow state, that immersive place of focus where time just seems to kind of disappear. I find that same peace and presence when I design, letting flowers guide me as I shape each piece with care.

Awarded Best of Zola
The Flowr Studio was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From our first conversation, Joss and her team were easy to communicate with, efficient in their responses, and incredibly kind throughout the entire process. The floral arrangements they created for our special day were of the highest quality - absolutely gorgeous, unique and classic in design. The flowers were truly stunning, and I'll look back on them forever and smile. Joss is the best of the best, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect floral experience for our wedding. I highly recommend The Flowr Studio to any couple looking for a top-notch florist who will bring their vision to life.

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
The bouquets were absolutely beautiful and fit my vision exactly! All of the flowers and decor complemented the venue perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for. Kate was great to work with, from the initial communication and planning to making several adjustments to our plan over time to sending a preview of the bouquet. We were also able to visit her studio in person and rent candles which was a huge help. Overall working with Kate was so easy and stress free and she really has a knack for bringing a vision to life! Thank you!

First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

We are absolutely thrilled with the floral arrangements from Rebel Rose for our wedding! From the initial consultation to the final setup, the entire experience was exceptional. Tracy has an incredible eye for design and truly understood our coastal meets Bridgerton vision. She created stunning bouquets, centerpieces, and alter arrangements that perfectly complemented our wedding theme and added a touch of elegance to every detail. The flowers were not only beautiful but also fresh and vibrant, making a lasting impression on our guests. What really stood out was her attentiveness and dedication to bringing our ideas to life. I had collected more vases than I had originally planned on and Tracy ran with it. She made vignettes of large vases and bud vases, taking a fresh spin on things by using one flower type per vase. Her suggestions turned out even better than I imagined. Tracy’s professionalism and passion for her craft was evident throughout the process. The florals were one of the highlights of our wedding day, and we are so grateful to Tracy for her exceptional work. Thank you for making our special day even more beautiful with your incredible floral designs!

Whether it’s an intimate celebration or a grand estate wedding, I approach every detail with creativity, care, and a commitment to excellence.

Having fresh local flowers in my shop is a great way to start conversations with customers and bring a different vibe to my store than the more mechanical, information seeking, technology vibe that bikes often bring in retail. Flowers break that mentality up, helping to bring a more intimate feeling to the store environment and speak more to what people get from bikes than a list of features/benefits.

Lauren Flanagan Design

5.0

Milford, CT
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Connecticut

Forever a lover of nature, I draw inspiration from the natural world and am most at peace and at home among the plants and trees. I love spending time outdoors, hiking with my dog, and working in my garden growing food and flowers. I have a life long passion for art and design and have worked as an artist for much of my life. In 2013 I found myself fusing my love for art and flowers when I began working in floral design. I quickly fell in love with the ritual of creating with fresh florals. In the years since, I've had the opportunity to hone my skills and style and provide unique and gorgeous designs for some wonderful couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
I don’t even know where to begin—words feel small compared to what Lauren created for our wedding day. From our very first consultation to the final breathtaking reveal, they went above and beyond to turn our vision into pure magic. As a bride, I had ideas, inspiration photos, and a Pinterest board full of hopes—but Lauren brought all of that to life in a way I never imagined possible. Every single bloom, every arrangement, every petal was thoughtfully placed and perfectly chosen. Walking into our ceremony and reception spaces was like stepping into a dream. What truly set them apart was not just her talent (which is unmatched), but their warmth, passion, and attention to detail. Lauren listened—really listened—to what we wanted, and then elevated it in the most elegant and personal way. The bouquet was absolutely stunning (it felt like it belonged in a fairytale), the ceremony florals took our breath away, and the reception flowers had our guests gasping and taking photos all night long. We received so many compliments from family and friends, but more importantly, we felt completely surrounded by beauty, love, and intention in every floral touch. It felt like us—romantic, joyful, and full of heart. To anyone looking for a florist who will not only deliver beautiful flowers but also pour love and soul into your big day—this is your person. We are endlessly grateful and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect floral experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Terri Krisavage Weddings & Events did an amazing job with the flowers for our wedding. Their communication style was quick, direct, and kind throughout the entire process. The quality of their work and value was simply amazing - the flowers they provided were absolutely beautiful and impressive, and guests raved about them. Terri's team set up all of the flowers so seamlessly and brought my flower vision to life perfectly. Terri was also incredibly helpful, quick to assist with anything we needed, and her suggestions and experience were extremely valuable to have during the planning process. I would highly recommend Terri Krisavage Weddings & Events to any couple looking for a talented, professional, and responsive florist for their wedding.

Welcome to Painted Gardens! Shannon, who is often hidden behind a big bouquet of flowers, is the owner and head designer of PG. Although her background is as a mixed media artist, She has always worked in horticulture and is proud to be a first generation farmer alongside her husband Justin. Her experience as a grower made floristry a natural, artistic progression. Since opening PG, her passion has evolved into distinctive, unique, eclectic, garden style designs. Painted Gardens would not be possible without her husband Justin's support and hard work taking care of our farm. Dream team since 2015!

Painted Gardens was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding flowers! From the very first interaction, Shannon was warm, prompt, and detail-oriented. You only have to tell her something once and she will never forget it! She provides suggestions with your budget in mind, and makes sure that your specific vision is brought to life. She provided thoughtful suggestions for our big day, like a custom chalkboard sign for our cocktail hour, greenery through the lights in the barn, gorgeous arrangements by the fireplace for cocktail hour, and candlesticks that she provided throughout the reception area. Shannon listened carefully to our preferences and didn't miss a single detail, walking through the venue with us weeks before to brainstorm stunning details. The final product was incredible - high quality florals at an extremely fair price! We got so many compliments on the florals in particular! All thanks to Shannon! Painted Gardens was by far our favorite vendor, and we would book them a million times over for any event. :) Thank you, Shannon!!
