Couple o' Mittens Photography
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,750
  • Serves Atlanta, MI

Hey there! We’re Shannon and Devin, the husband-and-wife team behind Couple o’ Mittens! We specialize in adventure elopements and intimate weddings across Michigan for couples who want a day that feels meaningful, relaxed, and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Outside of photography, we spend a lot of time exploring deep into the backcountry in our home state and beyond (AK, WA, WY, CA, TN, etc) —hiking trails, scouting scenic overlooks, and discovering quiet places along the Great Lakes. That experience allows us to help couples find incredible locations and create a wedding day that feels natural, personal, and unforgettable.

Amazing photographs! Shannon and Devin were professional, friendly, and they made the whole experience comfortable and fun. The photos turned out beautiful. Quick turnaround and excellent communication. Highly recommend and I will be booking again!

Drea Reid Photography LLC
Rating: 3.0 (2 reviews)
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $1,500
  • Serves Atlanta, MI

I initially dipped my toes into the world of photography in the early 2000s, focusing on sports events and capturing cherished moments from my kids' school activities. Life and the priorities of raising a family briefly pressed pause on my journey. Rekindling my passion in recent years, I have discovered a profound love for capturing the unexpected. Through my lens, I honor the memory of my youngest son, who, despite his inner struggles, taught me strength and love.

Drea seriously made our day so special. She was so kind, easy going, and helpful! She went above and beyond on our elopement day. We are so thankful and feel like we gained a life long friend!

Kristin Ebel Photography
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Fine art style
  • Serves Atlanta, MI

Capturing and documenting the fleeting nature & intricate details of your life and love—woven together with intention + grace into a nostalgic photo collection. I strive to tell your story and preserve your legacy with wholesome imagery you will lovingly cherish and share with future generations.

My husband and I decided to have a very intimate wedding on Mackinac Island with just immediate family. We had about 6 weeks in total of planning and my ability to find a photographer on the island was not fruitful. I actually found Kristin on a Facebook page for elopements and emailed for time to call. We had a FaceTime call within a couple days and at that time I had 2 locations we were looking into. Kristin was very understanding given that a location had not fully been secured but once we decided on the day and place (Wings of Mackinac Butterfly House) she was able to help us bring our wedding day and photo ideas into life m. She took both digital and film photos that were stunning and were just the icing on the proverbial cake (we actually got ice cream cones as our wedding dessert)! Kristin has always held fantastic communication leading up to our special day and has always gone the extra mile to assist in anything we needed. Since our wedding, she has also taken beautiful newborn and family photos for us and we cannot be happier with the outcomes! We treasure her work and friendship and we look forward to more captured memories with Kristin!

He had a true passion for his craft that shone through in every interaction. The quality of Alec's work was absolutely stunning - we got a wonderful variety of candids, formal shots, and editorial-style pictures that captured all the special moments of our day. Alec has an incredible eye for the right shots, and the final photos are absolutely gorgeous. Despite a complicated location schedule that I was worried about, Alec made the whole day seamless, traveling to over 4 different spots to ensure we got all the groupings and special shots we wanted. Working with Portraits By Sean was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Their communication style was professional, efficient, and genuinely kind throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was truly one-of-a-kind - their photos are gorgeous, superb, innovative, and incredibly detail-oriented and precise. The team of two photographers and a videographer was amazing, capturing so many special moments that will forever stay with us from our wedding day. We were especially grateful that they were able to capture our private final dance, which means the world to us. After our wedding, when our oldest son was leaving for bootcamp, Sean thoughtfully sent us additional photos that had been taken during the celebration, which are now cherished keepsakes for our family. I honestly can't say enough good things about our experience with Portraits By Sean - they exceeded our expectations in every way and we are thrilled with the beautiful memories they've preserved for us.

My husband and I come as a photo team! We feel your day should be captured your way! So we tailor our style and editing to each unique couple! It’s not about us, it’s about you. We will help you document what is most important to you, the way you envision! Just like you, we have felt awkward in front of the camera. We’ve had photos taken of us that we didn’t like. We will make sure you not only feel comfortable, but that you look good! We give you prompts to keep you moving so you look and feel natural and comfortable.

Lacie was the absolute kindest, most sincere and down-to-earth photographer I've ever met! She was thorough with all of her questions, and made sure that we were all on the same understanding of how her process worked. During our engagement photos, she made us feel comfortable, and we could be our goofy selves, which made the photos feel so much more real, rather than posed. She is a natural and would make anyone feel beautiful/handsome! Our wedding photos still make me tear up! They are so beautiful, and she and her sister did the most amazing job! I can't believe how amazing she was with giving us time, and making sure that we got all the photos we had wanted and then some. We were so incredibly lucky to have her as our photographer and will be using her again in the future 3

Ali Cushing Photography

My name is Ali Cushing; a NY-based photographer working in a blended documentary and editorial approach, emphasized with a cinematic method, and a personalized, true to life editing style. I am honored to be entrusted with depicting genuine love, authentic characters, and immortalizing precious memories. I see beauty in the subtle details as much as the wide, epic scene, while I see glory in the mundane in-between moments as much as the heart thudding highs. I am adamant that everyone, of all genders and orientations, any ethnicity, culture, or faith, all shapes, ages, and abilities, are welcome and I’d be delighted to work with you.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had the most amazing time working with Ali! We had kind of a long engagement and we initially started working with Ali over a year and a half before our wedding to get our engagement photos done. Not only were the photos beautiful, but Ali made us feel super comfortable and at ease throughout our session. Leading up to our wedding day, Ali was amazing at coordinating the day of timeline with our coordinator and making sure that all the elements that were important to us were included so that we had enough time to capture the moments. One of my favorite things about working with Ali is her calm presence. Every time I was stressed about something in the planning process about the timeline I would talk to Ali and she would immediately make me feel at ease. She was constantly reminding me that the most important thing on my wedding day was to be present with our friends and family (and as a type A bride this was a much-needed reminder!) Ali also came to take photos at our rehearsal dinner and welcome party which was great because she got to know our families and our family dynamics before our big day which was a huge help! On the wedding day Ali and the second shooter Scottie were rockstars! They went above and beyond at every opportunity from helping the boys tie a bow tie, climbing out on my fire escape to get a crazy photo that I had in mind, moving locations at last minute, dealing with rain, helping bustle my dress, and of course capturing all the beauty of our perfect day. I will not hesitate to work with Ali and her team again! She’s amazing, a true professional, and I hope we have the chance to have her capture our big milestones in the years to come.

Hi, I’m Isaac. In my world, light is everything. The cool ambient hues at dawn, hinting at what the day may bring. Golden sun rays catching particles through a tree as friends gathers to celebrate. A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. As a wedding photographer, this deep connection to special lighting helps me produce dynamic visual stories of romance, personality and beauty.

You are probably assuming my about me section will have a story about how I always wanted to be a photographer, I came out of the womb holding a camera, but that couldn’t be me. I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!

Awarded Best of Zola
Abby wasn’t able to travel to my wedding but she sent her assistants and she edited the photos. It went absolutely perfect. The photos were beautiful and I got so many meaningful photos with my family and his family that I wouldn’t have thought to get. I sent her draft of a timeline and the photographers printed it out and had it to make sure the photos I wanted got done. They were absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to Abby and her team.

So there’s no “I” in team right?! While Captured Couture is the product of years of hard work that I built from the ground up. I have an amazing team because sometimes takes more than just me. For larger events or on occasions when I am already booked one of my team members will gladly assist with your event. We’ve covered hundreds of weddings together, and have refined our editing style and way of shooting to be completely consistent. You won’t be able to tell the difference. Pinky promise! No matter where you’re planning from when it clicks, it clicks.

Awarded Best of Zola
My (now) husband and I chose to hire Jennifer from Captured Couture as our photographer for our wedding. We were both blown away by her images posted on her website and Instagram page and after having a phone interview we were convinced she was the one for us. Jennifer was communicative and so easy to work with. We were able to get a free engagement session with the purchase of our package which was awesome because we were able to meet her in person before our actual wedding. The day of the wedding there were a few minor hiccups as our wedding was the same day as the Detroit Pride fest, and we weren’t sure some of our desired locations would be accessible. Without a moment of hesitation Jennifer, who knows the city of Detroit incredibly well, was able to secure a location for our first look and our wedding party photos which turned out to be perfect. Jennifer and her assistant LeAnn captured every part of our wedding with some much care and attention to detail. Our photos are spectacular and we are so thankful for our photography team. Both my husband and I would definitely recommend Captured Couture to anyone looking for wedding photography.

One thing that really made them stand out was that they offer so many different editing styles to choose from, so we were able to pick exactly the look we wanted. They also got our photos back to us super quickly—about a week after the wedding—which was such a nice surprise. The photos turned out beautiful and they captured all the big moments and some great candid shots. I especially love how cool the dance floor shots turned out. We received tons of compliments on the pictures! Highly recommend!

I’m Taylor—your photographer, hype girl, and unofficial chaos coordinator. Wild + Free is for the lovers who kiss with their whole soul, dance like nobody’s watching, and ugly-cry through their vows. I don’t do boring. I don’t do basic. I do raw, real, romantic-as-hell moments that hit you right in the feels. Based in Michigan, ready to follow love wherever it leads. If your wedding’s less about tradition and more about wild joy and soul-deep connection, we’re gonna make magic.

Taylor is truly incredible at what she does. She did our engagement photos in August 2025 and brought my Pinterest board to life. The photos are STUNNING and exactly what we wanted. Taylor’s work is cinematic, moody, dreamy, and she goes out of her way to show she cares about your vision. We can’t wait to have her capture our August 2026 wedding! Not to mention, she’s also so sweet and pleasant to work with. I can’t recommend Wild Free Photos enough!

Big fan of dive bars, staring at the stars, forever searching for the best french fries, a blissfully cold Diet Coke, and a true midwestern why fly it's only 15 hours. You'll find me often traveling, spending time in nature, collecting rocks and shopping for vintage t-shirts. I love carefree messy in between moments, photographing my daily life on polaroids and film. I've lived a lot of places (Arizona, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico to name a few!) and have so many places that I treasure and feel at home.

When I was in the throes of wedding planning over a year ago, I was reaching out to vendors and putting payments down for June 2, 2024, and was crossing my fingers my deployed fiancé would even be able to attend, thanks to his unpredictable schedule. Amidst the stress (and borderline panic attacks!!) I was having because of that, I was also receiving a lieu of impersonal emails with quotes from photographers. When I got the email back from Jessica, she was the only one who answered with excitement and personality, and gave me a sense that this was supposed to be FUN. All this wedding planning was a very lucky sort of stress, and she didn’t make me feel like I was just some box to check off in her inbox— she was personable and friendly, and I liked her immediately. For the course of the year, Jessica and I kept up with eachother with texts, messages, and Instagram— and I felt like she was already a friend when June arrived. Even after her 12 hour journey to Virginia, she was full of energy and ready to go. She helped adjust some coordination timelines and caught things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. She hung out with my rambunctious family all weekend, witnessing our love and laughter, WIDE range of personalities, and even some sisterly tiffs. Honestly, she whole-heartedly became part of our crew. She ran everything past me when it came to details. Duke and I are not people who are comfortable in front of a camera, and I LOVED having her specifically tell us what to do to look good, while still feeling incredibly relaxed and natural around her. Duke and I kept saying she had Jedi powers the way she was able to flip cameras, batteries and equipment seamlessly. I’m writing this while in the airport leaving our honeymoon, and not only did Duke and I, and our families fall in love with Jessica— I still have guests reaching out to me via text to tell me how they hit it off with her on their own, how impressed they were with her ethic, or how they loved pictures from our sneak peek (eeeek!) I am not a girl who naturally feels pretty or comfortable in front of a camera. Jessica gave me the gift of finally experiencing both of those things on our special day. I felt beautiful and at ease. She captured the bridal portraits that I hope my great grandkids will put in their family tree projects for school one day, some of Dukes family and mine meeting for the first time, friends dancing, and our grandparents mingling and giving us their love. Duke and I knew our big white wedding would be our one chance to have everyone we love in one place. We are well aware of the rarity in that, and the fact that we don’t have much longer with some of those people we love. We’re well aware that these are the photos Duke and I will be looking at with our grandchildren when we’re old and grey, thinking about “the good ol’ days.” These photos are all we will have left one day of the people we love so fiercely, and these versions of ourselves. We will endlessly be grateful for Jessica of her effort and the labor that went into photographing a weekend like ours. She captured every single aspect of us and those we love, and above all us, gave us the gift of memory. 3 Faith and Duke
