My name is Amanda Montgomery and I am Arrae Photography based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.

I'm here to have fun with you and create gorgeous images that don't feel like a chore to make. It's your wedding, I want you to have fun, and walk away with all the sweet memories to cherish forever. With over a decade of experience, I know what works best quickly and am well versed in ANY lighting condition.

Phenomenal Photographer!

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

I do have the option of adding an additional photographer to your collection. I do not have an assistant.

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge. The additional retouching is complimentary on images included in your wedding album or for wall art pieces.

My turnaround time is 2-4 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.

You can expect about 50 to 65 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. I'm happy to recommend wonderful local vendors for you to check out!

In my 15+ years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never canceled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted second shooter. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
