Nick Levine Photography
Rating: 5.0 (20 reviews)
Asheville, NC
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $4,000

I’m an Asheville-based photographer and lover of the great outdoors, home cooked meals, hot summer days, and going on adventures. I’m weird (aren’t we all?), but I’m unapologetically myself, and I am obsessed with my job and this life I am so blessed to live. I've worked with some awesome couples, and maybe you're the next!

Awarded Best of Zola
Nick is a gem!! We are so thankful that he photographed our wedding. My partner and I had a lot of requests, and Nick accommodated them all while never making us feel difficult. He listened carefully to what was important to us - for my husband it was not stopping the party to take pictures and for me it was LOTS of candids of our loved ones. Somehow Nick made it happen!! We got gorgeous photos of the two of us just being ourselves with each other and amazing dance floor shots of our guests having the best time! With no posing!! The colors in the photos are fantastic -- even though Nick does AMAZING work outdoors he makes indoor photography feel just as special. Nick made a special effort to take a lot of photos of my grandparents and our parents specifically which we will treasure in years to come. Our friends said that the photos "look like how the day felt" which felt so right. We were amazed by how many micro moments between guests Nick captured!! Reliving the day via the photos is now my favorite past time. To top it all off, Nick was incredibly kind and calm throughout the day. Everyone in our families raved about how nice our photographer was. He worked with our coordinator for our timeline to run on schedule without ever making us feel rushed. We got to be fully present all day long. It was the exact energy you want by your side throughout your wedding. If we could change one thing it would have been having Nick for more time!!

Choosing the right photographer is a big deal—truly one of the decisions that can make or break your entire experience. We met Nathan at the very beginning of our journey, during our engagement shoot at the Biltmore Estate. We were both nervous, awkward, and completely unsure of what to expect. Then Nathan arrived, and everything changed. Within minutes he had us laughing, relaxed, and genuinely enjoying ourselves. That was the moment we knew he wasn’t just talented—he was special. So when it came time to choose someone to capture our wedding in Sedona, we took a chance and asked if he would fly out. Honestly, we thought it was a long shot… but he immediately said yes. And thank goodness he did. I will never forget the moment he walked into the room on my wedding day. I had just started feeling that wave of nerves while finishing my hair, and the instant Nathan stepped in, I felt completely at ease. How does he do that? He has this quiet magic about him—an ability to ground you, hype you up, and disappear into the background all at once. His passion is infectious. His eye for intimate, meaningful moments is unreal. And somehow, while capturing every single one of those moments, he manages to remain practically invisible. When we received our gallery, we both laughed, cried, and sat there in awe. It felt like reliving the day, but through the lens of someone who truly understood us. To put it simply: Nathan is gifted. Exceptionally, unmistakably gifted. We even showed our engagement photos to another top-tier photographer, and her reaction was: “Book him immediately. His editing is some of the most incredible work I’ve seen—I want to talk to him myself!” If you're reading reviews trying to decide who to trust with your memories, stop here. You’ve found the one. Nathan exceeded every expectation we had—and then ten more we didn’t even know we should have. He is the best of the best.

Asheville Elevated Photography

Asheville, NC
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $2,700

At Asheville Elevated Photography, I approach each wedding with an eye for timeless beauty and genuine connection. My style blends an editorial feel with natural storytelling — so your gallery is filled with images that are both artful and deeply personal. Whether you’re exchanging vows on a misty mountain overlook, celebrating under the canopy of an old oak, or gathering loved ones in a charming Asheville venue, I’m there to capture it all — from the big moments to the small ones that often mean the most.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband and I had a superb experience from start to finish with Carly @ Asheville Elevated Photography. We planned a small semi-quick wedding so we had only a few months between engagement and wedding itself and other photographers I contacted either didn't answer or were already booked, or their prices were such where it was out of our range for just a few hours of photos. We were so grateful to find Carly! Upon first meeting at our complementary engagement shoot (which is an awesome perk by the way), she was kind, chill, organized, and helped us feel far less awkward about posing for photos. We got some awesome shots at Craggy Pinnacle, some of which turned out so picturesque that my mom asked if the mountain cloud background was photoshopped! Carly was very proactive in the weeks leading up to the wedding itself. She thought of important logistics that I might have otherwise missed and gathered details so that the day itself would go smoothly and capture all the photos we wanted. Our photos turned out beautifully with a perfect mesh of more 'formal' posed family photos and more candid fun-loving ones, which is exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend Asheville Elevated Photography and will treasure the photos of our special day for years to come!

I’m an Asheville-based photographer and lover of the great outdoors, fresh ground coffee beans, flannel + fall, and going on adrenaline based adventures. I'm like a best friend with a camera, or the guest you didnt invite but glad I showed up. You'll feel completely comfortable and natural throughout the wedding day. No stress, no pressure.

Awarded Best of Zola
If we could give more than 5 stars to Michael, we would. Michael is an amazing photographer and beyond that just a genuine amazing human being. When we first started looking for a photographer, we both went into it knowing that we are both incredibly awkward people when asked to pose. With this in mind, we started the big search - the one that everyone reminds you that will tell your stories for years. Enter finding Michael - his website mentioned candidness, and a documentary type of style. Two things that immediately caught our eye - not to mention looking through his previous work- which is just unbelievable! Throughout the year leading up to the wedding, Michael was incredibly helpful. He answered any questions we had and offered super helpful suggestions when figuring out the flow of the day. One tidbit that I would recommend to any bride is work with your photographer to create that timeline - a tidbit from Michael. He also managed to have a blog post for every type of question I had (and I had a lot LOL). A few weeks prior to the wedding, Michael met with us via zoom to go over the different elements of our days and to go over our family list (which was insanely helpful day of because we were able to knock those out)! When our wedding day arrived, he was there early to get everything set up and his presence just put everyone at ease. It felt like someone who had been part of our family friends rather than a wedding vendor - which was another element that was important to us: good vibes! Our wedding day and the pictures felt just like us - entertaining and full of laughter. We hiked through some trails for our first look, walked along a highway, and climbed rocks- which lead to nothing but new memories and lots of giggles. We both were really nervous about taking the posed pics but Michael put us in our natural element and just focused on capturing our story, which was a trend all throughout the day. None of us will ever forget the fact we forgot to tell him we had a 6 foot hoagie at the ceremony. We also had a blast using bubble guns for a photo op fake exit and learned there is such a thing as too many bubbles! Within a day after the wedding, we had a sneak peek - and we generally could not believe how AMAZING our photos turned out. It’s still surreal that we could look that good in photos, he captured exactly what we were hoping -us having the time of our life and starting our life together as husband and wife. CANNOT RECOMMEND HIM ENOUGH! P.S. Plus how awesome is it when your vendors are so cool that they feel like friends by the end of the wedding so you have to get a selfie to commemorate the hours of planning and talking you did to make the day one of the most incredible days EVER!!!

Andy was amazing during the entire process to ensure the big day would be memorable. We always wanted to elope and are very active hikers. After seeing his photos, we knew we wanted work with him. We are from the NYC area and he took the time go over what locations would be ideal and suggested great vendors to work with. In the lead up to the wedding, he made a timeline of how the day would go. On the day of the wedding, he made my wife and I feel so comfortable and relaxed during the entire day and helped make this experience truly memorable. The pictures were spectacular. He captured the entire day (getting ready, first look, hike up the mountain, and ceremony) and truly made the day unforgettable. Overall Andy was caring, professional, talented, and truly a pleasure to work with.

Awarded Best of Zola
Payton was a hidden gem that I found through an intense Instagram/Facebook search for a wedding photographer. I was starting to get discouraged with the outrageous pricing of some of the big name photographers in the Birmingham, AL area and disappointed with the gallery examples of some of the cheaper options. When she messaged me back, her rates are so reasonable and affordable and her Instagram really shows how vibrant and dreamy her previous galleries have turned out. I felt like I could really trust her with capturing our special memories, I was right. Prior to the wedding, she sent out a questionnaire asking about our photography priorities and mindset. Also recently she started including an engagement session when you book her for a wedding package!! A steal! We couldn’t be happier with our photos and our experience with a Payton. She also is a traveling queen, so if you’re not in Birmingham, AL, don’t be discouraged!

I love capturing people in their most candid and natural moments and creating unique and marketable content for businesses and brands. When i’m not shooting weddings, you can find me traveling or out on the town with my wife Kaitlyn.

Brian and I will be grateful forever that we chose Darrell & Kaitlyn Cassell for our wedding photography and videography. Until we received the pictures and videos back, we thought the best part of choosing them was the wedding day experience with them. I loved their approach and energy that day. They guided us seamlessly from one moment to the next, offering gentle direction when needed, but allowing everything to unfold naturally. Nothing ever felt forced or overly posed. Their calm, relaxed presence set such a peaceful tone for the entire day. When we got the photos and videos back, our gratitude skyrocketed. The images are absolutely stunning and I’ll let them speak for themselves. I have never felt more beautiful, and it feels like the joy of the day leaps right off the screen. I’m still blown away by how they managed to capture not just how everything looked, but exactly how it felt. I would choose them over and over and over again. I could not recommend them more and wish I could relive it again and again. The incredible highlight video is the closest I'll get to that and it's perfect. Everything was perfect.

Hi! We're Julie and Rad. We met in Vietnam in 2016, and have lived in eight countries together since then. During our time abroad we've had plenty of adventures, seen incredible wildlife, eaten a lot of wonderful food, and honed our photography skills. We also got married in 2020! Planning a wedding during a pandemic involved an unusual set of challenges. Although our guest count was a little smaller than we originally anticipated-- the day could not have been more perfect. This was made possible only because we hired and trusted the right people. We try to instill the same trust so you can enjoy your day!

She is a joy to work with and helped us feel relaxed and at ease. I can’t stop looking at my pictures and everyone that lays eyes on them is OBSESSED! They take your pictures and capture who you are but also make it look like a beautiful piece of art. I simply cannot say enough good things!

Once in a lifetime occasions call for professional experience and peace of mind knowing that when those unforgettable moments arise, they’ll be beautifully preserved forever. When I’m shooting a wedding, my first and foremost goal is to listen. I understand that not everyone wants the same style of wedding, and that big of an occasion is far too important for “One Size Fits All” approach. What I offer is my photo-journalistic style of candid portraiture combined with over a decade of extensive knowledge of post processing and color grading to capture and create a beautiful mood and style that will carry on for a lifetime.

Stephan took our engagement and wedding photos in 2021, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. He took us to a private mountain for our engagement photos, and caught the golden hour and sunset at the perfect time - they're some of our favorite photos to this day! Our wedding was the same, Stephan knew the venue where we got married really well and took us to the best spots for the best shots. Payment and communication was also really smooth, and we still keep in touch with Stephan today! Highly recommend him for any wedding/engagement photos needs in Western NC!

Asheville, NC
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,800

Lacey is a world-travelled photographer originally from the midwest. This is a woman and Vet owned business. Her strength is primarily about seeing- the composition, the light, the dynamics between the people she is photographing. Portraits have a lean toward that as well, with a push toward the bonds between people. By working to get clients to interact, the images made reflect the connection between individuals as well as the self.

We got married 2.5 years ago on the beach, which is where we had met 4 years before that. Lacey was truly one of the great choices of the day. Before she arrived she began helping us plan and think of details we could not anticipate. Her experience and professionalism really showed before, during and after, but one thing not anticipated and so blessed by was her friendly, easy-going enthusiasm. No matter the weather changes, the mic malfunction from our DJ/friend, or even things going late- she was supportive and helpful. We had a small house-warming reception afterward. Seeing her dance while taking photographs was fun and helped her blend right in with everyone. I still have friends asking me to give recommendations for photographers, and I'll tell them about Lacey every time. A great choice!

  • Starts at $5,000

The Jungle Branch offers an authentic, refreshing approach to wedding photography and is paired best with folks who wish to remain present in the moments throughout one of the most important days in their lives. With an artistically stylized and candid approach, my goal is to not only tell your story in its truest form, but to encourage you to fully live your day, allowing yourself to experience the calamity of joy with your loved ones without photography feeling like a production.

Working with Mike was an absolute dream. My partner and I are not people who feel comfortable in front of a camera. Mike completely changed that - although we had never met in person before, Mike felt like an old friend. He had the utmost patience in dealing with our wild family members before we arrived and captured every moment completely perfectly. Mike was so intentional about every shot and was incredible about getting all of the nature-inspired, detail-oriented shots that I wanted. Every time I look back at my wedding album, I'm brought to joyful tears just seeing how perfectly captured every raw emotion was. At our reception, guests couldn't stop raving about how personable and easy to work with Mike was. We had a very "free-flowing" party and Mike was able to round-up everyone and get all of our needed family and friend shots - an impossible task! My partner and I just don't have enough good things to say about the entire experience, Mike as a person, and the beautiful pictures that we ended up with. I look back on our photos and know that I will forever have memories of the moody, "Pinterest-board-inspired" wedding of my dreams!

My wife had hired Tia to get her proposing to me last year and we had to get her to to our wedding! Tia is wonderful!!! My wife and I are awkward when it comes to taking pictures and Tia gave us directions and tips. She’s amazing and so is her work!
