    Beautiful, delightful, flexible venue

    My husband and I had a gorgeous wedding retreat at Venture in September 2025. Our 3-day retreat allowed us to slow down with the people we love the most and share the beauty of the place we live (Northern California) with those traveling from afar (East Coast, France, Canada). Our wedding was entirely DIY, which gave us the freedom to customize the different moments to our liking. The glamping tents were wonderful. We did not have access to the indoor lodging in the main house (only the bathroom), and the event was still incredible. We filled all the tents and some folks stayed off-site. We loved our vendors and would be more than happy to share more information with those interested (BBQ catering from Oakland, Bay Area coffee truck, local Half Moon Bay caterer for dinner, local florist, killer DJ on Friday and band on Saturday, local photographer, etc). The wedding weekend could not have turned out better. We only have fond memories of this experience. We did most things ourselves (we made the drinks, we designed the paper, signage, etc., and we relied on our supportive community to help us where we needed it), mostly because we were on a very tight budget. We worked closely with our wedding coordinator to ensure all the pieces aligned. The folks at Venture did the best they could with the staff they had. Communication was sometimes a challenge; they had one staff member doing all the outreach and communication with prospective and existing clients. Ensure that you have a very organized/good coordinator and that there is sufficient staff for all of your needs. Ours coordinator and hired staff went above and beyond to ensure that I was not thinking about any logistics or challenges that arose during the weekend retreat. Overall, the venue was a delight. Nestled in the bosom of the coastal redwood forest. I would recommend this venue to any couple looking for something genuine, bespoke, and flexible. The weather was perfect, the air was perfect, the vibes were perfect!

    Indian Wedding

    We hosted our Indian camp-style wedding at Venture Retreat and couldn’t be happier with our experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process—communication was easy, and they offered plenty of great ideas that made planning our own wedding very manageable. The venue is not only beautiful but also extremely versatile. We had guests who had never camped before, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Venture Retreat is perfect for both avid campers and older generations who may not be as experienced with the outdoors. If you’re looking for an outdoor, Yosemite-style nature wedding, I highly recommend this venue. You won’t regret your decision!

    BEAUTIFUL venue

    From the moment my wife and I first contacted Venture Retreat Center, the staff were incredibly pleasant, kind, and prompt in their communication. Kate was a dream to work with and helped us feel like we were doing all the right things, especially since wedding planning was really hard for us :) We had a million questions and she was always there to get us answers. It seemed like she really cared about us having a perfect day. Our dog being there was important to us, being outside somewhere beautiful was important to us, and we had an incredible live band that we wanted to host. Venture retreat could accommodate all of this, and all our friends camped in their cute and cozy tents. We had an absolute blast. We cooked meals for everyone in their outdoor kitchen space which was brand new and perfect for that. We brought our own mixed cocktails and drinks and served them at their cute bar space. The entire venue was absolutely perfect and dreamy, we could not have pictured a more beautiful setting. The kids swam in the pool constantly despite the weather. The hot tub was amazing. THE TREES. Parking was tough, but they were there to help us figure it out. We silent discoed until the wee hours after the 10 PM curfew, so don't be deterred by that. We would go back every year if we could.

    A Dream Location

    Everything about our experience with Venture was genuinely terrific from start to finish. A team of hard-working people who are willing to help with anything that they are able to. Communication was top-notch throughout the entire process, and the kindness exemplified by everyone who works there could not be overstated. The location is not only beautiful, but the positive energy one feels when walking around and staying on site is so powerful! I knew it was where I wanted to get married the moment I got out of the car on my first visit. Prior to visiting venture, we had looked at several other locations and had done a ton of online research. Many other venues were outrageously priced, even at a base cost, with basic amenities being additional costs. On top of being more expensive from the jump, the environments offered were not nearly as beautiful and fully realized as Venture. The newly built kitchen is stunning and so functional! All of the bathrooms with flushable toilets, electricity, and outlets made my less nature oriented guests feel very comfortable. Overall, everybody had a fantastic time, and every need my husband I had throughout this process was more than met. You will not regret spending time here at Venture Retreat Center, whether that’s for your wedding or just to book a stay for an escape from stressful life. Book with Venture, your heart will be happy! 3
