My friend's experience with the Halcyon Hotel in Cherry Creek was far from what shee had hoped for her wedding weekend. While the hotel's location and initial offerings seemed promising, the planning and execution fell short in critical ways, adding undue stress to an already busy time.

Initial Coordination and Booking Challenges:
She faced challenges early on, from miscommunications about room availability to delays in receiving the booking link for our guests. Although she eventually finalized a contract for our room block, the process required multiple follow-ups and corrections to secure the agreed-upon accommodations.

Major Issues with Our Suite Reservation:
One of the most stressful moments came just days before the wedding when the bride called and discovered that the suite reserved for bridal party preparations was mistakenly canceled by the hotel. Despite having a signed contract confirming the suite, the hotel staff initially denied the reservation. It took hours of calls and emails to resolve this issue, and the only alternative offered was a conference room called "The Nest," which was not equivalent to the suite we had planned for. While this was presented as a complimentary alternative, the resolution came too late to alleviate the stress caused.

Unauthorized Charges:
Post-wedding, the bride and mother-of-the-bride found unauthorized charges on multiple accounts, including fees for the "complimentary" conference room and attrition charges for rooms that were released within the contractual timeline. Despite assurances from hotel staff, these charges were not resolved promptly, leading to significant frustration and the involvement of legal counsel to seek reimbursement.

Lack of Accountability:
While she received an apology from the hotel after sharing our feedback, no meaningful steps were taken to address the financial and emotional strain caused by their errors. She was left feeling undervalued, which was deeply disappointing for such a significant occasion.

Final Thoughts:
For couples considering Halcyon for their wedding or events, I urge caution. While the hotel offers attractive amenities, their lack of reliability and accountability can overshadow these benefits. She is not the only hotel guest to report similar billing and service issues.
