About Bay & Barn Event Planning LLC

Bay & Barn Event Planning LLC

Owner & Lead Planner

Years ago, I was 18, five months pregnant, working part-time, and planning a wedding in three months, with no planner and no clue what I was doing. No one in my family had been married in 20+ years, and I was in pure survival mode. I didn’t get to enjoy it. Years later, I helped friends plan & coordinate their weddings and something clicked, I loved every detail, and I was REALLY good at it. Bay & Barn was created for the overwhelmed, the first-timers, the ones juggling life while planning one of the biggest days of their lives. I didn’t start this business to be fancy. I started it because I get it.

The biggest thing that sets me apart from the others is my mentality. I'm understanding that a successful team requires people that feel comfortable together and confident in one another. I'm aware that not everyone has a good vibe together and that's ok. I'm not in this business for the money, my business was started based on my real-life experience and my passion for wanting other brides to have someone to lean on throuhgout the process.

In three words: Confident, Organized, Supportive

    Could’ve been better

Bay & Barn was by far the most affordable planner I could find in the DC area. Mariah was quick to respond to email or texts. However my actual wedding day seemed disjointed. The layout of our space was atypical so it was hard to see or hear major announcements, e.h. wedding party entrances, first dance, cake cutting. I’d expressed that my biggest concern was the flow of the wedding/reception and how things would come together. I ultimately feel like they didn’t. I probably should’ve known this would happen considering Mariah and her team hadn’t been to my venue before. I wish I’d asked her to do a site visit even if it meant paying more money.

Hi Caroline, Thank you for your feedback and for choosing Bay & Barn to be part of your wedding day. I'm glad you felt supoprted in communication leading up to the event. I do want to provide a bit of contecnt for future coupels reading this. For this event, we were brought in at the reception, several key elements, including the layout, vendor placement and timeline details were pre-determined prior to our services beginning, they also were adjusted after our services began and before we arrived on scene. We had limited communication with the venue, and ultimately didn't have a designated point of contact to review in detail prior to the event. Without a scheduled rehearsal or finalized formalities (such as the entrances, the layout change and music selections), many pieces of the evening required adjusted in real time. Our team worked quickly to step in, coordinatiate with vendors and support wherever needed, including an additional assistant at no additional cost, and assisting with setup and cleanup outside of our scope, provided to ensure things kept moving as smoothly as possible. For couples considering services, we always recommend a rehresal, confirmed vendor details and clear communication prior to the wedding day, as those elements play a major role in overall flow and guest experience. Wishing you both all the best in this next chapter 🤍 — Bay & Barn Event Planning LLC
