Sixpence Studios

Our mother-daughter team brings a unique perspective to wedding photography. We understand the importance of family and relationships, and we work hard to capture the emotion and beauty of your special day. The studio is based in central Vermont, but we also serve, Maine, New Hampshire, Upstate New York (Saratoga Springs Area), Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

With years of experience in the industry, we have the skills and expertise to ensure that every moment is captured perfectly whether you're looking for candid/journalistic coverage or something more traditional. Our vibe is vibrant and emotive. That's our happy place. We love all types of photography - wedding, family, senior - because it unites us with different people at different points in their lives.

Our Wonderful Experience with Sixpence Studios !
From the beginning, my husband and I knew that we wanted both a photographer and a short video for our wedding, and ideally, we hoped to find one vendor who could deliver both. I discovered Sixpence Studios while browsing The Knot, and was immediately drawn to the beautiful photos and videos showcased on their website and social media platforms. Working with Joanna was an absolute pleasure. She was extremely easy to communicate with, whether by email or telephone, which made the lead-up to our wedding incredibly smooth and stress-free. Before the wedding, Joanna provided us with a detailed questionnaire. Completing it was helpful for all aspects of our planning process. Joanna made herself available to go through the questionnaire with us, answering questions, discussing the timeline, and offering her insights on important considerations like daylight, weather, and family harmony. Her guidance made the planning process much more manageable. On the wedding day, Joanna, Rhiannon, and Nick were simply amazing. They arrived while I was getting my hair and makeup done, and Joanna mentioned that Nick was outside flying a drone to capture video footage for our wedding film—I was instantly impressed! Throughout the day, the team guided us with warmth, humor, professionalism, and careful attention to detail. When Joanna came to let us know they were leaving at the end of our reception, I genuinely didn’t want them to go; we enjoyed their presence that much. Another guest even commented on how lovely they were. The team achieved the perfect balance: they were present to capture special moments but never intrusive, which was especially important for our small wedding. Their approach truly was an art. The photos and video turned out to be absolute perfection. We were married in January in Vermont, and I had always envisioned our wedding like a scene inside a snow globe—nature delivered on that vision. Our day was everything we wanted, but it went by so quickly that I wished we could somehow bottle up the experience. When we watched our video and saw a scene that perfectly captured that vision, it took our breath away and even brought both of us to tears. The attention to small details made everything extra special. Sixpence Studios sent a sixpence for my shoe for good luck, and included a beautiful wedding gift along with our thumb drive. These thoughtful gestures meant so much to us. I could not recommend Sixpence Studios more highly. They made our wedding experience truly unforgettable.

Joanna and her associates were the best photographer team we could ask for! They were so professional and made us feel comfortable the whole time. They were great with keeping us on schedule (which we all know is very important). Our photos and video came out amazing!! Professional pictures are worth the investment. We even asked them to stay an extra hour at the end of the night and they did with no problem! 10/10 recommend! Would book them again in a heartbeat.
