Q: How many years have you been DJing weddings?

We have collectively over 30 years of experience DJing weddings. We are honored to have been included in hundreds of weddings across Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee and in between!

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

We use the industry standard DJing program, Serato to mix and beatmatch the songs together, as well as top of the line speakers (QSC and or JBL) to ensure your sound is amazing for both music and toasts. We have wireless mics and corded mics as backups. and we use a Pioneer portable controller system for mixing and sound.

Q: Can you do our ceremony music and sound as well?

Sure! We can absolutely handle your ceremony songs and mic your officiant. This is all included in your rate, so we can do these for no additional charge. Keep in mind if your ceremony is outdoors, we will need proximity to a power outlet, and coverage if it rains or looks like rain. Our equipment does not work if it gets wet!

Q: Do you do lighting?

Nope! We want to focus on what we do best, which is providing a smooth running event and getting your dance floor grooving and shaking! We are not lighting experts - therefor we think its best to leave lighting up to lighting experts. If you want, we are happy to recommend some fabulous lighting companies for you!

DJ Clare kept our guests on the dance floor the ENTIRE night - we had SO many of our guests say our reception was the best they’d ever been to with A song choices, seamless transitions, and helping my father in law weave in a surprise appearance from Gritty/Philly Flyers mascot. Clare made sure our day was truly a reflection of our relationship and we’re so over the moon with how our day turned out with her help.

DJ Jessie really knocked it out of the park for our wedding. The space was very echoey and tricky to work in, but the ceremony and reception both sounded great. She also did an amazing job with the music and the dance floor was literally full the entire night. The whole team was so easy to work with and made us feel super confident right away!

Excellent DJ!
The folks at Groove is in the Heart were great to work with. Marjorie set up multiple meetings with us prior to the event to ensure that everything was planned out and nothing was left to chance on our big day. Could not have asked for a better experience!

Perfect DJ
We booked Groove is in the Heart for our wedding and were matched with DJ Marjorie. We had such an amazing experience with them! We left both of our pre-wedding calls feeling totally at ease and fully on the same page for what our wedding music would be like. And DJ Marjorie delivered on that, and more! Our cocktail hour and dinner music was exactly the vibe we wanted and the dance floor was absolutely packed the entire night! As a gay couple, we felt totally comfortable working with Marjorie and Groove is in the Heart. They also took special care to make sure the wedding reflected our tastes and made sure the music felt unique to us as a couple. Highly, highly recommend!

I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am that we chose Groove is in the Heart but specifically DJ Clare for our wedding this past weekend. Music is huge for me, and upon our first meeting I could already tell I could trust her with (what to me is) the most important part of this big expensive party. Every single song was not only the right choice, but played at the exact right time. She had the dance floor full and happy all night long. We had some really weird/niche must plays and she managed to pack them in at the exact right moments. I’m seriously getting teary again just thinking about how amazing the music was on our big day. My one and only regret is that I head banged too hard and now my neck is sore… eh, not even really a regret. Thank you Clare!!!
