My husband loves bourbon so it wasn’t hard to get him to travel to Kentucky. We flew into CVG and Warsaw is about 40 miles from there. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. I loved them. I can’t speak highly enough. Amber was quick to answer any questions during the process. And we had Cindy the day of. Cindy was everything we could have needed. She helped me get my shoes on, and when I popped a nail about to walk down the aisle she RAN to get my glue and fix it. I even had guests asking what the venue was to be able to review/tell their friends about it for the beauty and the day of coordinator.

Springfield, KY
  • Up to 400 guests

Built in 1842, historic Simmstown Manor has a rich story. Originally constructed by Harvey McElroy for his daughter Mariah, the home later passed to John Simms after the Civil War. Unlike many, Simms preserved his wealth through the war and acquired the mansion and its surrounding land, eventually owning 2,400 acres. The Simms family added a two-story north wing and moved in by 1868, hosting grand gatherings for the region’s most prominent families. When John’s wife, Sarah Cecilia, died in 1895, he divided his land among their five children, giving Simmstown to his youngest, Mary, with whom he lived until his death. The property remained in the family until 1983, when it was sold to the current owner, Larry Hodge. Both the house and grounds later underwent extensive renovation, preserving as much historic character as possible.

The Ashley Inn
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Lancaster, KY
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor
  • Starts at $2,500

The nostalgic Ashley Inn is the most romantic location for your Kentucky bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding weekend, and out-of-town guests. Celebrate lakeside near a gorgeous weeping willow, on the front lawn of the antebellum mansion, or in our newly-constructed, fully-enclosed Carriage House. The Inn and surrounding 130 acres is the ideal location and comes equipped with all the facilities and staff you need. Step through the doors of this classic federal-style home into a historic picture book. From the white oak floors to the handmade glass panes, experience life in a bygone era. The Inn was conceived in 2007, but this beautiful home dates back to 1840. Built by a southern family whose son-in-law would eventually march by the estate on his way to fight in the Civil War. It has since served as a dairy, a school, and is now the center of The Meadow Lake Equestrian Center, our on-site multi-discipline full-service equestrian facility.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
The Ashley Inn was the perfect venue, they have great staff and Heidi is a joy to work with . If you want the ideal Kentucky themed wedding look no further than the Ashley Inn. The venue is nice for out of town wedding party members as the venue sleeps 14 plus people. My only recommendation would be to add additional fans in the barn for late night dancing. We had both barn doors open, but no summers breeze so the barn heated up fast for dancing.

The best wedding venue ever! Thanks to Janna and her team, everything came together so perfectly and went smoothly on our wedding day. The Bluegrass Wedding Barn team brought our wedding vision to life. Planning was so easy and stress free considering we were planning our wedding from a distance and moved states in the middle of the process. It was absolutely magical to walk in to the venue on our wedding day and have everything already set up. Our friends and family were able to just come, celebrate, and enjoy the wedding with us instead of worrying about setting things up and tearing things down at the end of the night.
