In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Our climate controlled Event Building features spacious room for 175+ guests in a “country elegant” décor. The building features a Bride’s suite with full bathroom and private patio. Also inside is a wine, beer and liquor bar, a catering kitchen, a food serving area, and spacious restrooms. The Forestville property is also home to a completely renovated one room School constructed in 1897 and used as a school until 1964. The School building houses our wine, beer and liquor tasting room and also the Groom’s Suite.
