We absolutely loved our wedding experience with Chicago Winery. From day 1 they made us feel so welcome, and they were genuinely excited to host and share the day with us (shoutout to Amy!). Planning was so much easier since we did not have to go elsewhere for food or drinks (plus great wine), and the venue itself does not need a lot of extra decor to achieve the vibe you want. The location is also great for guests, since they're near lots of things to do and there are plenty of hotels within walking distance. Our guests absolutely loved the different spaces the venue provides; it was a huge plus to have the terrace remain open throughout the night, so that guests who wanted a break from dancing had another space to be in and mingle. All of the staff did an incredible job, and we received a lot of compliments on the food as well. As with any wedding day I'm sure, there were a couple little details that got missed, but only myself and my husband would have noticed. Overall we had an incredible wedding day, our friends and family had a blast, and Chicago Winery was absolutely the venue for us. Thank you to Amy, Chris, and all the staff for helping make this the most special day! - Kara & Chris Asmar, 06/07/25

Working with the team at summit was absolutely wonderful! They were super organized and super helpful! I had some pretty specific things I wanted when it came to music and the reception and this team made it happen so flawlessly!! DJ did an amazing job. Food and drink service was wonderful. The whole team was so sweet and kind. The decor they have available is so pretty and it made it so much easier to not have to DIY everything. Arrival in the morning was smooth sailing they set up all the stuff we brought in as well as the stuff from their decor that we picked out. So many guests came up to me to tell me this was the smoothest run wedding they had ever been to! The views were amazing and overall experience was positive. I was in tears at the end of the night because I was so happy with how it turned out. My only complaints are 1) with the florist we got put with. I thought we were extremely clear on what colors the wedding was and what she created was way off. I tried to be happy about them but I just really wasn’t pleased, but I wasn’t about to let this dim the magic of the day. 2) having the rehearsal the morning of the wedding. It delayed us getting ready and that delayed the amount of time we had for pictures. I basically missed all the time for portraits for myself and my family photos were so rushed we didn’t have time to get what we wanted. It broke my heart when we got our wedding photos back it reminded me of how much we missed because the venue time was so short. 3) we felt rushed during portraits after the ceremony, then to find out we were 15 minutes ahead of schedule later on. It worked out on one hand because my dress bustle took a while but we missed out on many of the poses and second shooting location for my husband and I because of this. Again looking back at our photos I am sad to have missed this opportunity. 4)I do wish they would allow an extra hour for the reception, the dancing portion of the night was pretty short and it bums the guests out when last call is announced shortly after starting.

So happy we decided on The Villa for our September Wedding! The ceremony was held outdoors at the beautiful Madera Gardens. Their rustic pergola photographed so nicely as did the ballroom. We received so much positive feedback how smooth the night went and how delicious the food was! Lexie and Becky were wonderful to work with. Lexie was our assigned event producer. She executed the vision we had perfectly. Becky was the best wedding attendant! We never went hungry or thirsty the entire evening. She even packed up all the decorations for my family at the end of the night. They both saved me multiple times with some dress issues I was having. They went above and beyond to make the night so special for us! Now, a century later, The Boylston Rooms retains the integrity of the 1814 original mill in every brick and beam. Our rental includes planners and decor at no added cost. We had the absolute BEST experience having our wedding at The Boylston Rooms! Myles and Erin are an absolute dream team!! Even though we had the time of our lives at the wedding, it was bittersweet knowing our time working with them had come to a close. As a queer couple, when searching for venues it was important to us to have our wedding at a place that actively showcased LGBTQ couples and made us feel as though we would be accepted and celebrated. The moment we walked through the door and got to talking and touring with Myles, we knew The Boylston Rooms had to be our venue! From there, the planning process was so enjoyable! Not a lot of venues offer such careful, personalized attention along with a HUGE room of decor to help your day come to life. They were happy to let us visit whenever we wanted to take another look at their decor and all our emails and questions were answered promptly. When the wedding week finally came, we honestly weren’t even worried about things going wrong because Myles and Erin had everything under control! My wife and I both almost never feel that way, so thanks to them we were able to have fun, enjoy our day, and just be in love with being in love!!! Do yourself a favor and book this beautiful venue and work with this INCREDIBLE team. You really won’t regret it!!

Let me start off by saying that I don’t typically leave reviews, but I needed to leave one for this amazing team and venue! We just had our wedding there this February, and WOW!!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this venue. We were looking for a venue that was affordable and willing to work with us and we came across this hidden gem. I wanted an enchanted romantic candle lit wedding and this was the perfect place for it. The chapel is connected to the tented area, which is breathtaking. They have a beautiful suite on site where my bridal party and us were able to get ready in. They had pastries, coffee, and more ready for us while we were getting ready which I thought was such a beautiful touch. Arthur and Kat were extremely responsive from start to finish. They answered any questions that we had and were so attentive to everything! As a bride, I had some anxiety leading up to the day of but their prompt responses gave me piece of mind. The day of the wedding their whole team was on it either setting everything up. It made the experience stress free and they made our vision come to life - it exceeded our expectations by far! Our family and friends couldn’t believe how calm I was the day of the wedding and I kept telling the it’s bc they LITERALLY have the best team. I honestly can’t believe anything less than a 5 star review for this place if I’m honest. All of my guests kept raving about how attentive the staff was and how it was THE BEST service they’ve ever had at a wedding. If any one is in doubt about booking them for your wedding, don’t be! This is the perfect place and has the best team to host your wedding! All in all if we had to choose again, we’d choose The Sanctuary in a heartbeat! Do yourself a favor and give them a chance. You will not be disappointed! The sanctuary team has become family to us and for that we will always be eternally grateful to them!

If you're planning to have a small intimate wedding, love the vibe of DTLA and want a venue with character and values inclusivity, The Oviatt is literally the perfect choice. Bonus point for being super affordable. The Oviatt team made it really straightforward and easy for us from the jump. From the moment we inquired, Gabe got back to us really fast. He informed us immediately when another couple was interested on the date we were looking at and gave us ample time to lock it in. Lindsey and Cami were our main point of contact after signing the contract, they provide you a welcome kit with all the info you'll need (such as vendor insurance and how to acquire it, parking, rental they can provide, layout guidelines etc.) and a checklist along with their due dates for everything they'll need from you. They even have a preferred vendor list in the welcome kit which is going to help you LOADS in wedding planning. Going with one of their preferred caterers is highly recommended. Oh and their bar? 1000/10 delicious drinks. We still think about the espresso martini. seriously. The value for money is incredible considering everything you'll get and zero hidden fees! We're absolutely in love with this venue. It made our special day even more magical because of its natural charm and the Oviatt team was so lovely to work with. Not only did we fall in love with this place more, our guests did as well 3 We miss everything about this art deco hottie of a place.

We had a beautiful Fall wedding at Green Acres, made possible through the expert hands of Megan. The event space is beautiful all on its own, including an updated bridal suite, charming rustic barn details and sprawling grounds for extended outdoor space. Leading up to the big day, Megan made sure we stayed on schedule and offered invaluable advice and suggestions. The wedding day felt like everything was just taken care of. She worked with all our vendors and coordinated everything seamlessly. If I had the opportunity to do the day all over again, I would certainly come back to this venue and work with Megan again. I would probably be less nervous, though… knowing everything was truly taken care of.

Wedding venue shopping is a lot on a couple. It takes time and energy and can be very stressful. However, when we say we found the perfect place we mean it. Donauschwaben’s was one of our venue choices coming highly recommended by our friends and family already. We reached out through their website and within no time we got an immediate response from the Christine, Event/ Wedding planner to set up a meeting together. She is not only extremely kind, but had everything organized so beautifully to choose from it was a no-brainer to choose this venue. She even recommended our DJ who had played a previous wedding there who was incredible. All communication leading up to our big day was efficient and layed out easily for us to understand. Our checks were deposited in a timely manner by the venue, our tasting was so nice and so delicious. The no pressure wedding planning was worth every penny spent. Our wedding day was so special and so beautiful from start to finish from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to our lovely reception to follow. Not only was Christine present the day of, but the staff was also on their A game all night long. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and kind, we felt like royalty. We both highly recommend this venue and if you do, definitely get the Schnitzel, Prost! The only recommendation to the venue would be to update their beverage packages to include seltzers such as High noons or White claws. Great place, great venue, great staff and great time!!! What more could someone ask for on their wedding day? Absolutely nothing…I would tell everyone to have their special events here. Each staff member I spoke to or worked with were very friendly and accommodating from day 1. There is no hidden fees for anything! This is what I was afraid of but, this venue is awesome! They are upfront about every detail and priced very well. I felt I got what I paid for with no regrets! They have excellent customer service and very understanding to any issue/situation I had. They were there when I had (what I felt) a dumb question and always reassured me. They all made me feel welcomed and made me feel so comfortable even though I was overwhelmed with nervousness, I felt their support when I needed them. I would strongly recommend this place everyone! My words can’t express how happy I was on my wedding day with how everything turned out.

The Wheeler House is a historic gem that has been given new life by serving as a wedding venue and special event site.

Having our wedding at The Wheeler House made for such an amazing and stress-free day. We loved that The Wheeler House included a caterer, DJ, and cake—it truly felt like a one-stop shop. Having so many major vendors already included made the planning process much easier and far less overwhelming. They also provide a list of preferred vendors for photography, florals, makeup, and transportation, which made selecting the remaining vendors incredibly easy. I booked one of their preferred floral vendors, and it was such a great experience since they already knew the space, the layout, and what would look best for the overall design. We also booked one of their preferred transportation vendors, which was just as convenient because they were familiar with the property and logistics, making everything run effortlessly. The entire staff at The Wheeler House was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and consistently positive from the moment we booked through our wedding day. Having one location for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception kept the day flowing beautifully. We also loved having both indoor and outdoor options. We had a winter wedding, and while the southern weather allowed us to be outside, knowing we had a stunning indoor backup option gave us so much peace of mind during planning in case of rain or colder temperatures. We also booked The Wheeler House cottages for our wedding weekend, which made getting ready and overnight accommodations extremely convenient. Having our family and bridal party together all weekend made the experience even more special. While The Wheeler House may initially seem more expensive, we absolutely got our money’s worth. Because so much is included, we had fewer vendors to coordinate on our own, which saved us time, stress, and additional costs. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue in North Georgia that offers incredible value and includes so many essentials, I highly recommend The Wheeler House.

Overall, we would absolutely choose Ashton Gardens Corinth again. We had a wonderful experience with the venue and Walter’s Wedding Estates overall, and I’m sharing this review in hopes it helps future couples researching venues. First, our wedding planner and coordinator, Becca, was incredible. She is extremely organized, a great communicator, and such a kind person. Our day would not have been the same without her. She kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes, checked in on us throughout the day, and truly made us feel supported and cared for. Venue: The beauty of Ashton Gardens is truly unmatched. The chapel is breathtaking, and I will never forget the moment the doors opened for me to walk down the aisle. The bridal suite was exactly what I hoped for and comfortably fit me, my seven bridesmaids, both moms, and our hair and makeup artists without feeling crowded. The groom’s suite is smaller, so the groom and his groomsmen chose to get ready off-site, which worked fine for them. One thing we loved is that the reception space is just a short walk from the chapel, making the transition to cocktail hour and the reception very easy for guests. The reception hall is spacious and offers a lot of flexibility for floor plans. We had 142 guests, plus a rented dance floor and dueling piano players, and the space felt perfect. One thing we wish we had known before booking is that the “included” rehearsal hour is only offered Monday–Thursday. Rehearsals outside those days require an additional fee. Food & Drinks: We chose the exceptional catering and bar package through Walter’s. Unfortunately, the food ended up being our least favorite part of the wedding, which is the only reason we are giving a four-star review instead of five. Several guests mentioned their meals were cold or dry, and we later learned the last table served received noticeably smaller portions, which was disappointing given that our final guest count was submitted well in advance. However, the team did a great job accommodating guests with dietary restrictions. Along these lines, we were disappointed that there was no opportunity to have an actual tasting to choose our menu, so we chose a chicken and steak duet as a safe choice. We did attend a Walter’s showcase, but they only had pork, fish, or chicken to try that night. Since we had fewer than 150 guests, we paid to have both bars open, which we highly recommend to avoid long lines. Guests had great things to say about the bartending services, and the signature drinks were fantastic. Vendor Package: The vendor package was a huge benefit. Not having to worry about rentals like linens, plates, glassware, and tables saved us a lot of time and stress. The vendors we worked with through the package were professional, communicative, and wonderful to work with.

The only thing that exceeds CT Wedding Groups reputation is their execution. Our day was flawless. Our coordinator Mary is simply one of one. There is no one better. She was on top of everything we needed before we knew we needed it. It was no surprise to us how impeccably she did her job after working with her right hand, Eddie. They were an absolute dream team that left us wanting for nothing. Coming into our wedding day we had a very specific vision. CT Wedding Group took our vision and turned it from a reality to a living dream. There are 0 critiques, there are 0 regrets, they delivered in a way that still has our loved ones reaching out to rave about their experience. It all seemed too good to be true, but it was better. The food. The food. The food. The food. The food. The food. More than anything else we are getting non stop compliments about the food. Their culinary team was just out of this world. Our event chef Jeff delivered on a level that you can’t even find at some 5 star restaurants. This was not wedding food. This was bliss. On top of all of this was the service. Just the perfect finish. The servers and bartenders took care of our guests like their own family. This experience was unlike anything we could have imagined. CT Wedding Group is astounding. We simply cannot recommend them enough.

About wedding venues

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
