Why did I become a pastry chef? Thanks to my grandmother and her ability to be stylish, my vision of beauty in simple things and creating my own individual style was formed. I can still see the drawing table with sheets of paper with drawings of various mechanisms and building plans (she was a designer). She was also a great baker. I couldn't read or write yet, but I had a wooden rolling pin and a blackboard made especially for me. As a reminder of her, I keep my grandmother's recipe books (1978). These old, time-worn pages keep her warmth. The only thing we didn't agree on was chemistry! Grandma didn't like it, and I became a chemist.

From the days of hiding under the counter while my dad decorated cakes at Flamingo’s Restaurant, to planning my children’s party favors today, I have always had a love for baking.
