I play ukulele and guitar as well, and teach music at the University of Hawaii. I am a Na Hoku award winner. My unique specialty is the lovely Hawaiian Lap Steel Guitar. This is beautiful background music for any event with a gentle Hawaiian ambiance. This instrument’s unique sound will immediately transport listeners to the days of old Hawaii with gentle breezes and a relaxed feeling of Aloha. Don began playing violin at age five, while living in Karachi, Pakistan. His Rumanian father gave him his first lessons. Continuing his studies, Don attended music conservatories in Paris and Rome, culminating in 1975, when he began exploring music beyond the classical realm. Since then he has performed and recorded with numerous jazz, folk and rock musicians, and also classical. His credits include playing in orchestras for such luminaries as Ella Fitzgerald and Pavarotti. Presently making his home on Maui, Hawai`i, he divides his time between performing, teaching, recording & swimming in the warm ocean.
