“If I were to tell you my true feelings about Twisty Maple and event manager Jessie, you would probably think I'm obsessed and I would probably run out of characters. So read this review with the idea that I'm working on 50% capacity here. Twisty Maple was absolutely, positively the best venue my partner and I could have picked to host our family and friends for a wedding ceremony and celebration. It felt like a home away from home, not only because my family set up shop and stayed in the house for a week leading up to our wedding; but also because of the warmth and care that guests can feel built into every inch of the place. My partner and I chose Twisty as our venue as soon as we had a virtual call and tour with Jessie, before we had even seen the space in person. We we so immediately at ease with Jessie, who already felt like a family friend, and could tell that she cared deeply about the home and property. Jesse and the Twisty team genuinely want to share the space with folks, evidenced by a willingness to host atypical activities (I was at one point convinced I wanted an on-site smoker for a whole hog and Jessie was totally game) and offering of a garageful of event decor at no cost (including signage, bud vases, candle holders, baskets, barrels, and SO much more). Leading up to the big day, Jessie graciously offered her contact information to my and my partner's moms for any logistical questions related to the home rental, which helped enormously in saving time and stress. We were greeted by a welcome sign with the names of family members staying at the home and a thoughtful gift basket with goodies for my partner and I, including keepsake Twisty Maple mugs which are adorable. It was so great to have the space leading up to our event for family time and DIY-ing and resting. I am so grateful to Jessie for sharing Twisty Maple with my family and friends. The space will forever hold such a special space in my heart and I hope you, dear reader, have the opportunity to make unforgettable memories here too.”

“Where is the option for 1 million stars? Kathryn deserves way more than 5. I didn't even know that adventure elopements were a thing but my husband and I knew a big wedding was not for us. As soon as we stumbled upon Kathryn, our decision was made. From the first phone call to the delivery of our final photos and video, Kathryn was absolutely amazing. She really does the most when it comes to providing you with all of the resources, but she is also just in general the loveliest person you could ever work with. And even when a global pandemic and weeks of storms threatened our plans, she so gracefully communicated our options and everything turned out just as it was meant to. From the moment we met Molly on Zoom, we knew she was gonna be the perfect person for us to handle our many music ideas and dreams. Music is a very important part of me and my wife’s relationship, so it was very important that we found someone who wasn’t just a DJ, but who also understood the importance of music and how it can be a foundational piece of a relationship and how music can influence and enhance experiences. Molly not only understands that, but she lives and breathes that, and it comes through in her gift of helping you curate the soundtrack to the best day of your life. I had envisioned every part of our wedding over and over, and created playlists to those moments, and Molly and her app allowed us to easily and seamlessly put that vision together. I can’t tell you how many times I listened to those playlists and pictured our wedding day, and she made it all happen, flawlessly. Every one of our music fantasies came through exactly as we had hoped and dreamed, all of which was made possible because of Molly. She even created a version of an ODESZA song just for us that would be timed exactly right for our first kiss after we said our I Dos and that played as we walked back up the aisle together. It was perfect and exactly how I pictured it. Molly will be as hands-on or hands-off as you want her to be. She meets you where you’re at and uses her professional expertise and experience to help guide you in the right direction while you’re on your wedding journey full of never-ending decisions. During the reception, she kept the vibes UP all night, she read the room, and she had people on the dance floor the entire time (especially us). I don’t think I’ve danced that much in my entire life. And we’re ravers lol. She gave us our dream dance party, and we had an absolute blast. Everybody loved her and thought she KILLED it. We got so many comments from our guests saying, “your DJ was amazing!!” Even people we didn’t expect to see dancing made an appearance or two on the dance floor. She hit on so many levels, and we are sooo beyond grateful for her. Also, her energy is just magnificent and infectious! I literally felt so happy whenever she’d walk up to us, I was like “omg hi, I’m so happy to see you,” like we were old friends. She is professional and fun all in one. She has a very calming and grounding presence, too, which was very much needed and appreciated on wedding day. Long story short, Molly was the only DJ we talked to and we never once regretted that decision. She was an angel to us before and during the wedding. We are already trying to figure out when we can go see her play! The best advice in wedding planning we got was this: if you follow your gut and hire the right people, you can trust your decision and you can trust the professional that you hired to get the job done right. “I could not have been any happier with my stylists, Sky and Autumn. They showed up early and set up without needing a lot of help from me. They were accommodating to my wedding party, who wanted a whole range of makeup and hairstyles, and they got everyone done EARLY! Everyone felt gorgeous, especially me (the bride). Both stylists were super easy to talk to and generally made the atmosphere of my wedding morning more fun. I received compliments on my makeup all day, and it looked just as good at the end of the night as at the beginning. I had a cathedral length veil and my hair didn't budge once, even when the veil was taken in and out. “Nick is a gem!! We are so thankful that he photographed our wedding. My partner and I had a lot of requests, and Nick accommodated them all while never making us feel difficult. He listened carefully to what was important to us - for my husband it was not stopping the party to take pictures and for me it was LOTS of candids of our loved ones. Somehow Nick made it happen!! We got gorgeous photos of the two of us just being ourselves with each other and amazing dance floor shots of our guests having the best time! With no posing!! The colors in the photos are fantastic -- even though Nick does AMAZING work outdoors he makes indoor photography feel just as special. Nick made a special effort to take a lot of photos of my grandparents and our parents specifically which we will treasure in years to come. Our friends said that the photos "look like how the day felt" which felt so right. We were amazed by how many micro moments between guests Nick captured!! Reliving the day via the photos is now my favorite past time. To top it all off, Nick was incredibly kind and calm throughout the day. “By the luck of the draw, Nathan was available for our very quickly planned wedding--we snagged the last date he had in June 2024. I was ecstatic because I had always admired his work. My now husband and I had a blast working with him, we never thought taking photos/videos would be one of the highlights of our big day but it really was. Homewood, a special event venue in Asheville, NC, is an ideal destination for rehearsal dinners, weddings, receptions, and gatherings. Homewood is a beautifully restored 1920s stone manor located in Asheville's post-Victorian historic district of Montford. The elegant castle was originally built as a private home. The elegance of the 1920s luminesces from original wrought iron chandeliers and alabaster sconces, casting graceful lighting from the 20-foot ceilings of the Great Room to the original hardwood floors, cherry walls, and grand Appalachian stone fireplaces. Conveniently located within a mile of downtown Asheville, Homewood offers 200 free, designated parking spaces, and is located in a neighborhood setting. The Great Room seats 110 people for dinner, or up to 150 with cocktail seating, with space for dance floor and DJ or band. Homewood is fully handicap-accessible. “Carolina Flowers provided the flowers for our wedding, but the experience was not as smooth as we had hoped. Their online communication style was quite tough, and the quality of their work felt a bit improvised. While the flowers were beautiful, they did not fully listen to our requests - we asked for white and blue flowers, but ended up with pink and purple flowers included in our bouquet and decor. Overall, the flowers were a disappointment and did not fully capture the look we were going for on our special day.”

“Highland is definitely the best venue in Asheville! The rooftop has beautiful mountain views, the barrel room has a great skylight and hanging greenery, and the reception space can be made into whatever you want it to be. We used all three spaces for our wedding and it has great flow and plenty of space for a larger guest count. Erin & Bailey were both extremely helpful throughout the entire process from touring/initial questions to all the tiny details leading up to the big day. Our wedding was scheduled shortly after the hurricane in fall 2024, and we were so passionate about having it at Highland that we rescheduled to 6 months later, and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Amazing staff, excellent draft beer, convenient to downtown, and a beautiful space; we can’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else!”
