From the moment we stepped in to the event office to just sit down and see what they had to offer, We knew this is where we wanted to get married! Everyone was so welcoming and easy to talk to. We were given a timeline as to when we had to have certain things done and when we should schedule the next appointment. We ended up ahead of the game, which put all the anxieties at ease. Our event coordinator was Alex, she was absolutely amazing! So personable and caring. I went in having absolutely nothing planned other than my colors, and she helped us put everything g together with such ease. We got married at Lawnhaven, and all of our guests were throughly impressed with the event in its entirety. They made it so easy to put the menu together and fined vendors with their tasting events. We were surprised at how much fun my husband and I had planning everything! If I had to do it again I would not change anything!!

When I walked in, my flat lay station was already beautifully prepared and organized, the bride’s dress was perfectly placed for those timeless shots, and she even knew exactly where the best lighting was for portraits and details before I even had to ask. It was like she had read my mind! But what stood out even more than her organization and eye for detail was her heart. Melissa has this calm, kind, and joyful spirit that instantly makes you feel at ease. Deity made our day so easy. There are venues where you have to build a world, and venues where your world is built for you. Deity is so straightforward and makes it easy for couples to focus on the moments that matter instead of pricing our table cloths. Our wedding day & the planning leading up to it was absolutely perfect and we can't thank the Chicago Winery staff (especially our event manager Hulda!) enough for making our wedding come to life exactly as we dreamed it. The venue is gorgeous, our guests raved about the food/appetizers/cocktails/etc. and it is truly a night we will never forget. Being able to go outside to the cocktail hour terrace was also a huge plus to get people moving around and seeing new parts of the venue while the Chicago Winery staff transformed the whole space from ceremony to reception. We worked with Amy right after booking the space and she was so helpful in being a resource for us to bounce questions off of as we began planning. We utilized a lot of the preferred vendors (florist, DJ, etc.) that Chicago Winery recommended and they did not disappoint. Our event manager, Hulda, was soooooo helpful throughout the last 6 months of preparations and as our day-of manager - we could not have done it without her. She made sure the whole day was perfect and everything timeline-wise lined up exactly as we envisioned it. Can't recommend Chicago Winery enough! 1000000/10

We hosted our wedding at Olio in early August and simply had the best experience. From the moment we met Sarah on our tour, I felt like we were in good hands with the space and every single person who worked there and/or was associated with it. The building felt both modern and historic, and we loved the surprise of the lofted ceilings and twinkling lights once we stepped up the stairs. Olio was an great size for our 90 person event, and Sarah (and her team at Without a Hitch) helped us plan exactly the wedding we wanted, which included large rented palm trees, arcade games, a Richie's Slush cart with umbrella, even a surprise visit from Santa Claus...at Olio it all worked out. Folks say it a lot, but it was truly a blank canvas and our Olio wedding was perfectly personalized for us. The space was spotless, had great parking and directions for guests and vendors, and made for epic photos. Highly recommend this memorable venue (and the incredible professionals behind it).

We got married at Walden in December and it was the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding. Walden ensured that we were taken care of every step of the way. Walden has it all: amazing food and drinks, full service planning, and great relationships with some of the best vendors in Chicago. Maria was so wonderful to work with in the beginning stages to book our wedding with Walden. She answered our many questions and scheduled multiple calls with us to ensure we were comfortable with the contract we were signing and was so accommodating! Krystle and Alyssa, our amazing planners, could not have been better!! They were there every step of the way whether it was to offer suggestions on vendors, reach out to vendors for us to get pricing/details, and to keep us on track with planning every detail. As an indecisive bride who really had no vision going into wedding planning I could not be more grateful to Alyssa and Krystle for making the planning process as easy as possible! From the moment I arrived the morning of my wedding we were taken care of by the amazing staff at Walden. Helen greeted us with breakfast set up, took our dresses to steam them, made sure my veil and all accessories were ready for detail shots, and checked in on us to help with anything we needed. Krystle helped ensure that the day went according to plan and made every dream of ours come true. She brought our vision to life and we could not be more thankful for her. Jenny was our closing planner the day of the wedding and made sure we were taken care of the entire night. She helped coordinate the set up of the desserts and late night snacks and helped secure all of our belongings at the end of the night. The planning team is a dream and allowed me to not have to worry about a single detail the day of my wedding. They gave me the ability to be fully present with family and friends for every moment of the day. The food and drinks were hands down the best we have ever had! Our family and friends could not agree more, we continuously receive compliments on the appetizers, entrees, and drinks at our wedding. We can’t thank the kitchen and bar staff enough! Our wedding was a dream and we could not be happier with how everything turned out. I would highly recommend getting married at Walden and I hope that I get to attend a wedding there again to experience it all over!

The Villa at Ridder Country Club was an amazing venue for our wedding. The staff were so communicative and responsive throughout the planning process, which made things much easier on us. The venue itself is gorgeous - the outdoor ceremony area is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, while the ballroom has beautiful tall ceilings and chandeliers. For the quality of the venue and service, we felt the prices were very reasonable. The staff were respectful, nice, and truly seemed invested in making sure our special day went smoothly. Founded in 1814, The West Boylston Company was a large textile manufacturer in West Boylston, MA. At the turn of the century the company faced a crisis: the site of their mill would be flooded to form the Wachusett Reservoir. Instead of abandoning the mill, the company dismantled it brick by brick and shipped it to its new home in Easthampton, where it was rebuilt on the banks of the Lower Mill Pond. Now, a century later, The Boylston Rooms retains the integrity of the 1814 original mill in every brick and beam. Our rental includes planners and decor at no added cost. I cannot say enough about how AMAZING The Boylston Rooms was for my wedding!!! If you are looking for the perfect New England wedding in an old industrial building then THIS is the place for you. The best part is it’s a dedicated wedding venue. It is their entire job to throw the best weddings ever. They have a room FULL of decorations to choose from. They provide tableware, different colored table cloths and napkins, faux greenery and candles, drapery, arbors, card boxes, picture frames, etc. There are dedicated bridal and grooms suites with a lock code to keep your items safe. Fun settings around the building for photo sessions. Two beautiful rooms for the ceremony and reception. A beautiful patio for cocktail hour as long as weather permits. A dedicated catering kitchen attached to the reception room who will cater to all dietary needs!! I have celiac disease and they provided an entire gluten free buffet for my guests and EVERYTHING was delicious. Not to mention the staff!! Erin and Myles are the BEST!!! Seriously love them so much and could not rave enough about how fabulous they are and made sure my husband and I had the best day ever. You will not be disappointed if you get married here!

The venue was just incredible. We picked it because of the historical background as well as the fact that we knew we wouldn't need to add much to make it beautiful. Lindsey and Gabe put us at ease and helped us through each step of the process. I loved how Lindsey worked with our vendors to ensure everything went according to plan on the day of. I’m loving all of the texts from guests letting us know what a beautiful and unique venue we had. From the historic charm of the building to the LA skyline changing from day to night, there's nothing else like it. I could not recommend this venue more!

Got married at Simple Affair this June and everything was wonderful from start to finish! From the very first visit before securing the date, the staff was very informative and helpful. Maddy, our event coordinator, was so responsive and attentive to any and all questions we had throughout the planning process. The day of, the team that was working was very helpful as well and adjusted to even the smallest last minute changes we made to our timeline and the different adjustments we made to the flow of the reception. I could not recommend this venue enough! They have so many different options and can as involved and all inclusive or as hands off as you would like them to be, it’s really very personalizable and we couldn’t have picked a better option! Another great benefit is that if you are a DIY bride, they are so adaptable to your vision and can help assist in bringing your Pinterest board to life. The space of the venue really is so big it’s amazing how well you can decorate the space and still have room for a big dance floor. One specific thing we loved about this venue and a big reason we went with them was the possibility of bringing in your own food to better fit your vision. Having specific kinds of food was very important to us because we had a particular vision and we were able to achieve that here! A huge thank you to everyone at A Simple Affair that was involved in our wedding last week!

We got married at the Red Barn in June 2025 and can't say enough good things about the wedding and the Red Barn staff. At every interaction, they went above and beyond for us. The venue is absolutely stunning and I loved that there were so many options for taking photos. We also stayed at the Stage House Inn and did our rehearsal lunch there, which made the whole experience easy and seamless for ourselves and guests. One thing future bride/grooms will understand is how overwhelming starting wedding planning can be, and how hard it is to figure out pricing for all your vendors. I've heard horror stories from girlfriends on hidden fees and surprise costs. The Red Barn was so transparent on costs from the start, which was a huge differentiator for me. We worked with Alex and Colleen and they were both fantastic- so organized and communicative. As someone who didn't have a dedicated planner, it was invaluable to have Colleen available to help plan our day. Colleen was on top of my 10,000 emailed questions and put me at ease in the days leading up to the wedding. Everything went so well, our guests had a great time and we owe that to the Red Barn and the staff! Big shout out to Moe as well who made sure the groom and I were well fed and always had a cocktail in hand (and a smile on our faces!). Incredible. The Flagstaff House exceeded our expectations in every way. When we were initially brainstorming our wedding we wanted to prioritize the food and the music, aiming for a "supper club" vibe, and Flagstaff certainly knocked it out of the park. We decided on a day time lunch wedding and it was so much fun. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how incredible the event was - the 5 star food, the delicious drinks, the wait staff's attentiveness, the VIEWS. Annie coordinated our event and she was absolutely wonderful. A true professional who is accommodating to all ends. Even when we weren't sure about something, Annie was always there with an excellent suggestion on how to execute. The wait staff come around and take drink orders, as opposed to the typical wedding bar that has a huge line. The kitchen accommodated all food and allergy restrictions with ease, and the bar staff even created some delicious fall cocktails on our behalf. We couldn't be happier with our ceremony overlooking the flatiron mountains. The location is truly special. They've made us raving fans and we will certainly be back for a "regular" dinner service soon.

My parents even went to our food tasting in our place (bless them), and SEG made it all work without a hitch. We were lucky enough to be paired with Anne, our day-of coordinator and actual angel on Earth. From the very beginning, she felt like a friend—sweet, funny, genuine, and totally on my wavelength. I came into this with messy notes and scattered thoughts, and every time I talked to Anne, she brought clarity and calm. She completely understood the vision, printed and carried around my 3-page Google Doc (LOL), and made sure not a single detail was missed. Even when we made the big decision to change our ceremony location a few months before the wedding, she took it in stride and helped everything fall into place. She had everything perfectly lined up the day of and somehow made me feel like I didn’t need to worry about a single thing Anne, we seriously love you. And to the rest of the team: thank you! How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space.
