The Lodge is located less than an hour from downtown Los Angeles, minutes from the 101 freeway, and a step back in time from the pace of modern life. We host weddings, parties, and corporate events. The Ballroom seats up to 180 with a dance floor, or you may dine outdoors with up to 275 guests on the expansive Great Lawn with a view of Malibou Lake. The Lodge provides catering exclusively by Chef Cordelia, and comes fully furnished with dining tables, chairs, dishware, and lounge furniture.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake is hands down the best wedding venue in L.A. County. It is nestled in the Santa Monica Mountain range just outside of Malibu. It provides a perfect blend of nature, quiet and a beautiful ballroom, which was perfect for our 100-guest wedding. The environment itself is superb, and what truly elevates The Lodge is that they make wedding planning so straightforward. Through the whole process we felt supported by Chef Cordelia and Chef Tiff, whose extensive catering menu is outstanding and has a depth and breadth of options, and she will work with you to make the menu of your dreams. Our guests still have not stopped talking about the food throughout the night and afterwards. Their staff is superb, and their bartenders crafted an amazing blackberry margarita and whiskey sidecar custom cocktails that were delicious.

We were looking to have an intimate, garden style wedding and the chapel was perfect. Sheila was wonderful to work with and answered every one of my million questions. She helped us with every detail and was such a rock for us on the day of our wedding. Sandy was a beautiful officiant and our guests loved our ceremony! It was absolutely stunning, we got so many compliments from our guests as well. Hard to believe such a little slice of paradise is just 30 mins from LA, it felt like a different world.

The Sheraton Agoura Hills was a fantastic hotel for our wedding weekend. It was conveniently located next to our venue, and all of our guests enjoyed their stay. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there and also loved having breakfast at the hotel, and everything went smoothly. The staff was kind and accommodating, the food was good, and the bar was a fun place for guests to gather after the wedding. They worked with us on our room block and budget, and while we did need to remind them about some dietary needs like vegan, pescatarian, and kids’ meals, everything was handled and our guests were happy. It was a great home base for our wedding weekend.

From the start, Seth’s professionalism and easy-going nature made the planning process stress-free. His use of the Vibo app was such a game-changer—it allowed us to easily upload our song selections and ceremony/reception timeline details, making communication and organization effortless. We gave Seth just a handful of songs to set the vibe, and he curated an incredible playlist that perfectly matched the energy we wanted. It was a true pleasure to have Randall and his staff a part of our wedding vendor team. He is a true professional and master at his craft. My wife and I were very particular in choosing our wedding photographer. We knew that our wedding photos were going to last forever and wanted to be sure that the photographer we choose was going to capture all of the essential moments. Every photographer has their own style when it comes to editing the photos and Randall’s was exactly what we were looking for. After we wrapped up our initial consultation call, my wife and I knew that he was the photographer we wanted. He was easy to communicate with and we felt very comfortable with him as if we had know each other for years. He built us a personalized package that accommodated all of our specific needs. Leading up to our special day, he made sure to check in on us multiple times and made sure we never had to worry about a thing. His knowledge and experience as a wedding photographer made us feel like we had another wedding coordinator. He knew all of the ins and outs and was going to be prepared for any unexpected changes that might come his way. On the day of the wedding, him and his staff were able to seamlessly work with our videographer to capture all of the important moments we wanted. They were well organized and had a clear game plan. I cannot stress how important having him was on the day of the wedding. He kept my wife and I at ease and was able to adjust to all of the twist and turns that were thrown at him. He was always looking out for us as a couple and made sure our best interests were held. Everyone involved with our wedding spoke so highly of him and his staff. If we were to choose an MVP of the day, Randall takes the cake. We were so excited when he told us our gallery was ready to view and when our hard drive was available to pickup. He captured every single moment and every time we look through the photos we can relive one of the most important days of our lives. We truly appreciate Randall and will always recommend him to any of our family or friends. There is no one else we will call if we ever need a photographer.

Can't say enough about the quality of James's work, his attention to detail, his professionalism, and curating the best dance party experience at our wedding!! From start to finish he was extremely prepared and provided us with all the materials needed to organize the music and run of show. As both DJ and MC, James truly went the extra mile to make our day run seamlessly, and made us feel so special. He was even accommodating to our last minute music requests and was very patient with us. In addition to being extremely professional, prepared, and organized, he is such a down-to-earth and kind, genuine person. He even captured some videos of our first dance and grand entrance that we wouldn't have had otherwise because we didn't have a videographer. This was so thoughtful and truly above and beyond! We personally added on the photo booth option and are glad we did, as it was a hit. His rates were very reasonable as well especially for the package we got. Everyone raved about James and the music. Faulks Floral Co. was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From our very first interaction, their communication was easy, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful - they really listened to our vision and preferences. Jonathan came to the ceremony location (my father's backyard) and really understood the space and what would work best. I enjoyed working with him and had absolute confidence everything would be beautiful. I did not even go to the ceremony space or reception space to check on anything. Can’t overstate what an incredible experience we had with the Oviatt. Not only was the venue perfect for wedding, but the staff truly made the entire planning and day-of experience so smooth and welcoming. The space is gorgeous and one-of-a-kind - we didn’t have to decorate at all, there were so many little spaces and pockets guests to explore and mingle in, all the original art deco decor and furnishings were so cool. We didn’t have to add anything (but could have brought in outside rentals and vendors if we wanted) - the venue rental includes seating for the ceremony and reception, the rooftop lounge was fully furnished was lounge furniture, the terrace is already decorated with bistro lighting, twinkle lights and ivy walls, and there is lounge seating throughout the indoor space. Also included were cocktail tables, easels for signage, tables for our buffet set up. All of these things at other venues we looked at were either additional costs or we’d have to bring in additional vendors to supply. What really made the experience though was the Oviatt staff - Lindsey and Gabe are both so friendly, approachable, welcoming and supportive. Other venues we looked at were all business, had a “take it or leave it” vibe and kind of made us feel like we should be grateful for even to be given the chance to have an event there; Lindsey and Gabe were the exact opposite - they weren’t just trying to rent out a space, they were helping us host our wedding and doing everything they could to make sure our plans were realized. They provided us with so much information beyond what was required of them - they had a whole packet with a suggested timeline for planning, a Planning Pod tool that enabled us to track our vendors and plan out our floorplans and seating charts, lists of vendors we needed to consider and decisions we needed to make. Gabe had an actual meeting with us to discuss what we were looking for in a venue and our wedding, and have is all of this information we even booked the space. Lindsey followed up with us periodically in the months leading up to the wedding to remind us of what we needed to be taking care of and making sure we were on track. Both of them were always generous with their time answering our many questions and being flexible in accommodating our requests. We felt so supported and cared for throughout the entire process, and felt more like we had friends in our corner than like we were coordinating with a vendor. Truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this team is and how appreciative we are. We looked at practically every venue in the downtown/northeast LA area, and this one not only blew away the competition in what they offered, but it was also the most affordable option! It’s really like having the efficiency of an all-inclusive venue without the restrictions. And of course all of our guests loved it - we are still getting comments on how unique and beautiful the space was, and how much everyone enjoyed having so many different spaces to explore and congregate throughout the evening. Best decision we could have made.

I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. One thing that we were really hoping for was getting a disco ball above our dance floor, but since we were outdoors, it wasn’t looking promising. McKenna was the one who made sure that we got our disco ball, and it was absolutely perfect! That’s just one example of the many ways McKenna ensured our dream wedding would become a reality. On the day of, McKenna and her team were so efficient and handled everything so that my husband and I could relax and focus on ourselves. We got to our venue and everything was already done and ready to start the day! McKenna was amazing at time management throughout the day, and she was so helpful to not only us, but our families, wedding party and guests as well. Everything went perfectly on schedule and all the crazy ideas that we had came to life with no issues! It was truly the best day of our lives and it wouldn’t have been possible without McKenna’s help! I could write so much more on how incredible Events by McKenna is, but to sum it all up, they are the best choice for your wedding planning and coordinating needs and you will not regret choosing them for your big day!!

We had our wedding over the weekend, and it turned out to be absolutely amazing — better than we ever could have imagined — and a big part of that was thanks to Ingrid and the Grand Entrance Affairs team. From the very beginning, Ingrid was kind, responsive, and easy to work with. She made the entire planning process feel so much more manageable. On the day of the wedding, she and her team handled everything seamlessly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing — their calm, professional presence allowed us to truly be present and enjoy the day with our guests.

I ordered photography and videography from them, they've done a great job! Iman and Ali were very friendly and caring, it was very easy to work with them and we did so many pictures in the short period of time that we had for photos during cocktail hour. And the price wasn't high at all, unlike other wedding photography companies. The turnarounds are not long, the way they edited our video was remarkable, and they conveyed the emotions we felt that day perfectly! If you are reading it now, waste no time, choose them!

I could not be happier with Tavi & Hun Events as my wedding planner! I don’t even have the words for how impressed we were (and still are) with the work she put into our wedding but I’m going to try! She had a big challenge ahead of her with planning the first full-scale wedding at an unconventional venue (the movie theater/video store Vidiots) and she not only took on the challenge, we could tell that she was excited to do so. She was enthusiastic & excited for our wedding, and came to us with really helpful advice and ideas and that really makes a world of difference! Tavi has a lot of great vendor partners, many of which we ended up using, and she was great at handling communication & details with any new vendors she hadn’t worked with before. Honestly, if there were any challenges or bumps along the way, we had no clue, and that’s exactly what a good wedding and event planner should do - make the event go seamlessly and stress-free for the couple. A month later and we’re STILL getting compliments from our friends & family about how special and fun our wedding was, and we owe so much of that to Tavi and her impeccable organization and planning. The day itself went off without a hitch! I’ve been telling everyone that hiring Tavi was the best money we spent on the wedding, and that’s absolutely true. She really cares about making your day special and making sure you aren’t dealing with the stress and confusion of contracts, juggling communication with different vendors, and getting every last detail right. If you’re getting married, do yourself a favor and HIRE TAVI!

Literally from the first interaction, Trey was thoroughly professional. We knew instantly that we'd be in good hands during the process, and he maintained through the big day. With Trey, we always had clarity over next steps, and we also got as much flexibility as we could ever hope for. We had a slightly unusual (or, unconventional) ceremony in a couple of ways, and Trey handled every request without any issue. Lastly, and most importantly for a DJ, he nailed the music. We felt like he "got" us while also filling in the gaps appropriately. A true professional, and we feel fortunate having him on the deck for our celebration.

DJ Carlos was fantastic at Nicolette and Aaron’s wedding! He brought such great energy to the event and kept the dance floor alive all night. His personality was upbeat and fun, making him incredibly easy to work with. You could tell he’s experienced; he read the crowd perfectly, kept the vibe going, and seamlessly mixed songs to match the moment. Guests of all ages were dancing and enjoying themselves. From start to finish, Carlos helped make the celebration unforgettable. Highly recommend him if you want a DJ who’s professional, personable, and knows how to throw a great party!

We are incredibly grateful Xenia was our engagement/wedding photographer and couldn't be happier with the results! The photos will speak to her technical talent; her professionalism and dedication to her craft are evident in every shot. It was so hard for me to only select 6 photos. What the images don't explicitly show is that Xenia was an absolute joy to work with. She is clear, transparent, and helpful in her communication. Her straightforward and friendly communication ensured we were always on the same page and felt supported throughout the process. While shooting, she is organized and efficient. We got every shot we hoped for and then some. Her enthusiasm and joy were infectious. She made these two awkward nerds feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. We cannot recommend Xenia enough! We will cherish the photos you took forever!

We absolutely loved our DJ! Misha was amazing and really delivered. He kept everyone on the dance floor, which was our one request. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the communication from the office staff before the event was terrible. Poor Misha—we had to text him with questions, but he wasn’t allowed to answer directly and everything had to go through Ruby at the office, which was frustrating. We even had a Zoom meeting to review our music plan, but a week later Ruby messaged me saying it wasn’t completed. What was the point of the Zoom call if not to review it? It felt disorganized. However, on the day of the wedding, Misha executed everything perfectly. Despite the office communication issues, I would still recommend them!

I truly can’t say enough amazing things about Carissa and her team at Positively Charming Weddings. She was the very first vendor I hired for my wedding, a year and a half in advance. Within the first 2 minutes of chatting with Carissa the first time, I knew we were the perfect match. She is incredibly organized, compassionate, an amazing listener, and isn’t afraid to take the lead and make decisions when necessary. She is thoughtful, calm, has a wealth of wedding industry knowledge and was able to provide personalized suggestions based on my preferences at every turn. To be honest, I was originally super nervous and anxious to hire a wedding planner, as I am a very type A person because of my job as a programs and event planner. But Carissa exceeded all expectations and truly was able to allow me to relax and enjoy my wedding weekend without a worry in the world. She was a problem solver every step of the way. For example, she offered to manually fixed my seating chart the day before the wedding and found a print shop willingly to print very specific last minute signage (both things that were my fault that they were delayed/wrong). She kept not only me, but my husband and both families on track leading up to the wedding, provided monthly checklists, was available via phone and email for my questions, and even provided bridal party itineraries the weekend of. Her and her team were incredibly easy to work with, and our other vendors and bridal party members said the exact same thing. She can work with anyone, with any personality type, and makes you feel important and heard. If you want someone to go above and beyond for you, look no further! She will make your day everything YOU want it to be. Couldn’t recommend her and her team more…I walked away with a new friend!

They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and were able to give us amazing advice on what they wanted to capture and always asked if we wanted anything more. Michelle was such a delight to work with, and the entire Something’s Blooming team really went above and beyond to make our wedding day so special. Creating the vision for our wedding florals with Michelle was so much fun because she took all our wacky ideas and ran with them, and we really appreciate how many personal details she incorporated into her designs. I knew that I wanted animal skulls included in the centerpieces and my bouquet, and upon hearing this Michelle didn’t even bat an eye! We also heard many people raving about the pocket square boutonnières our groomsmen wore- they were absolutely stunning, and the groomsmen appreciated that they were much easier to put on/manage than traditional boutonnières. In addition to creating the most beautiful floral designs we ever could’ve imagined, we heard from many family members and members of the wedding party that Michelle and her team were incredibly personable and that they enjoyed talking to them while receiving their boutonnières, corsages, etc. After communicating with Michelle for several months leading up to the wedding, we of course knew this would be the case! We cannot recommend Something’s Blooming enough, not only for the outstanding floral designs but also for the warm and welcoming atmosphere the team brings to every wedding.
