The Rotch-Jones-Duff House, a Greek Revival mansion built in 1834, stands as a prominent landmark in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This elegant 19th century estate is a unique setting for your special event.
The one-acre property located in downtown New Bedford includes a historic house and gardens. The 1834 Greek Revival mansion can accommodate smaller events, meetings and photo shoots on a year-round schedule. The tent covered terrace and gardens accommodate all types of celebrations from May through October, including weddings, receptions, private parties, family reunions, business meetings, photo sessions and celebrations of all kinds.

Unique Hidden Gem
The Rotch-Jones-Duff House was an absolutely perfect venue for our wedding ceremony. Claudio and his team were incredibly communicative and quick to respond to our questions. They were by far one of the best vendors we had in terms of communications and reliability. The quality of their work and overall value was exceptional - the venue was absolutely beautiful and unique, and they even had a great rain backup plan ready to go. We were able to take gorgeous photos both inside the historic home and on the covered porches, and the team coordinated the rain backup plan seamlessly so that our ceremony went off without a hitch. The chairs for our guests were set up under the beautiful tented patio, they put an arch at the end of the aisle for us, and the background was the beautiful garden area. We're so grateful to the Rotch-Jones-Duff House team for making our special day perfect! We would highly recommend this location to other couples looking for a beautiful and unique hidden gem.

Rotch-Jones-Duff House
From the moment we toured the Rotch-Jones-Duff House, the staff provided us with personal, attentive care. They went above and beyond to make our wedding day special, even helping our elderly guests get settled with great care. The venue itself is a historic, grand space that offered amazing value for the price. The staff worked seamlessly with our caterer, assisting with food presentation and clean-up, so we could fully enjoy our celebration. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or more accommodating team to host our wedding.

Best Day Ever
We got married on 9/8/23 and it was the most perfect experience imaginable. Claudio was incredible and we can never thank him enough. We always felt comfortable, communication was always timely and easy, and the location speaks for itself- stunning. We had both our ceremony and reception on site with 90 guests. It was perfection. Having been born and raised in New Bedford, it was that much more special.

If I could give 10 stars I would!
The Rotch-Jones-Duff House was an exceptional wedding venue for our wedding day on June 3rd, 2023. Claudio, the venue coordinator, was an excellent communicator - easy to get ahold of and with us every step of the way, which is unfortunately a rarity in my wedding planning experience. Too many vendors become difficult to work with after the contract is signed, but Claudio and the RJD team were the complete opposite. The space speaks for itself - it's absolutely beautiful! Even though our wedding was just before the peak of the rose season, the grounds were lush, many roses in bloom and some trees were blooming which was unexpected. We were also relieved that RJD had a quality rain backup plan, as it ended up raining on our wedding day. Claudio was super supportive throughout, helping us decide to move the ceremony under the tent, which still looked gorgeous. Claudio was a genuine pleasure to work with - he listened to our ideas, helped facilitate a fun rehearsal, and truly cared about making sure our wishes came to life. Of all the vendors we worked with, RJD was light-years ahead in terms of communication, reliability, and going above and beyond. Claudio felt more like a member of our wedding planning team than a vendor. I would highly recommend the Rotch-Jones-Duff House to any couple looking for a beautiful, historic venue with a fantastic, caring team behind it. Thank you RJD for making our wedding planning and day so special!
