Welcome to The Hill and Moor, a stunning wedding venue in Crawford, Mississippi, near Starkville. Fully restored in 2022, our 12,000-square-foot space blends industrial-chic elegance with a versatile layout, creating the perfect backdrop for any celebration, from ceremonies and receptions to engagement parties and more. Our modern banquet-hall-style space within a historic building accommodates up to 300 guests. Outdoor space is also available for memorable events. Enjoy well-appointed dressing suites and ample parking. After your celebration, you and your guests can relax at The Tangerine, our onsite boutique motel with 18 stylish rooms. Our event team ensures every detail is perfect. Venue rentals include tables, chairs, linens, service staff, setup, and cleanup, plus optional dance floor, drapery, and a photo booth.     Poor Communication & Follow-Through

    I got married here on March 21, 2026, and while the venue itself is beautiful, my experience as a Black bride in Mississippi was deeply disappointing and, at times, uncomfortable. From the beginning, communication felt inconsistent and dismissive. There were multiple moments leading up to and on the wedding day where I felt like my concerns were not taken seriously or handled with the level of care you would expect for such an important event. On a day where everything should feel supported and seamless, I instead felt stressed, unheard, and at times, overlooked. There were issues that impacted the overall experience that should have been handled proactively by venue staff. Rather than feeling like a valued client, I often felt like I had to push for clarity, follow up repeatedly, and advocate for things that should have already been in place. As a Black woman, I can’t ignore how certain interactions came across. Whether intentional or not, there were moments where the tone, responsiveness, and level of attentiveness did not feel equal or welcoming. That added an extra layer of discomfort on a day that was supposed to be filled with joy. To be clear... the space itself is gorgeous and has so much potential. But a venue is more than aesthetics. It’s about how you are treated, how your experience is managed, and how supported you feel throughout the process. I hope this venue takes time to reflect and improve their communication, professionalism, and overall client experience — especially when working with diverse couples.

    Hidden Gem.

    I am so thankful for this group of people! They were so helpful and communicative along the way without making you feel like you are “behind.” I appreciate that linens, set up and take down are included with their cost and the staff there was EXCELLENT. Thank you brooks!
