    Disappointed to say the least

This venue was extremely disappointing and, frankly, unprofessional from start to finish. The space is significantly smaller than advertised. With fewer than 50 guests—the stated maximum—people were still cramped, uncomfortable, and unable to move or dine properly. It is misleading to market this venue as capable of hosting that number. Additionally, the layout is not open or cohesive, which created constant confusion for guests. Rather than a seamless flow, people were required to move from room to room for different parts of the event, making the experience feel disjointed and poorly managed. The staff lacked organization, professionalism, and basic event awareness. Despite detailed plans being clearly communicated in advance, the venue insisted on additional staff, which only created chaos. Too many people were interfering with responsibilities that had already been assigned, completely disrupting the flow of the day. The day-of coordinator (who is also the owner) was particularly problematic. Rather than facilitating the event, she repeatedly interrupted key moments, overstepped boundaries, and inserted herself into areas that were already handled. At times, it felt more like she wanted to be part of the event than manage it. There were also multiple unacceptable lapses in judgment. While we were en route to the venue, we were contacted about using balloon décor that did not align with the established wedding color scheme—seemingly because staff preferred not to take it down. This reflected a lack of attention to detail and a reluctance to uphold agreed-upon standards. Additionally, staff made passive-aggressive remarks and were unnecessarily pushy, creating an environment that was stressful instead of supportive. It was also brought to our attention that staff were consuming alcohol during the reception, which is completely inappropriate for a professional event setting. While the wedding itself was beautiful due to the efforts of the couple and their support system, the venue added a level of disorganization and frustration that should never be part of such an important event. By the end of the night, there was nothing but relief in leaving. I would strongly caution anyone considering this venue. It does not deliver the professionalism, coordination, layout, or capacity it promises.

Thanks for attending this beautiful wedding held at Chateau1870, the premier intimate event venue (winner of best of Zola 2025 and 2026). Sorry that the ceremony did not live up to your expectations. I cannot comment beyond that to protect the privacy of the bride, groom, and other family members that participated in the planning execution. Those members, along with the staff and leaders of Chateau1870 led an extensively orchestrated wedding. A wedding that all agreed was beautiful, full of fun (as evidenced on attendees' social media sites), and on time. Praise God!!! Honest share

The venue’s eclectic interior does not offer the neutral backdrop expected of a luxury space. Staff seemed overwhelmed by a party our size. As designated point of contact, shielding the couple from stress, staff repeatedly bypassed me to question them. Learning that staff were speaking about me unprofessionally amongst themselves also bothered me. The bridal suite fell short of "luxury". The lighting was inadequate for hair and makeup, the bathroom suffered from low water pressure, and several doors were stuck or difficult to open throughout the venue.

Thank you Planner/Mother of the Bride for your feedback. You were an absolute joy to work with and you planned an incredibly beautiful wedding for your daughter (no one can deny that). First and foremost, the event itself was on time and absolutely beautiful—something all parties experienced and no one has disputed. Our primary goal is always to ensure the couple has a meaningful and memorable celebration, and we’re pleased that was achieved. To provide helpful context for future couples, this event operated outside several of our standard best practices, which are designed to ensure the most seamless experience: • Final timeline delivery – The finalized timeline was received two days prior, limiting full pre-alignment • Rehearsal coordination – A rehearsal was recommended; however, key members of the wedding party were unable to attend • Separation of responsibilities – Members of the wedding party were also responsible for décor and setup, whereas we strongly recommend separating these roles to reduce complexity • Guest count alignment – The event exceeded the originally communicated guest count, impacting flow within an intimate, multi-room environment • Vendor / AV preparation – Advance coordination and testing are always recommended, particularly for client-provided elements Where our team went above and beyond: • Staffed the event with five team members—above our typical level—to support execution and guest experience • Provided complimentary early access and complimentary extended departure time to support setup and breakdown • Transitioned to an elevated table-side service approach at no additional fee to enhance guest experience • Painted the courtyard and added complementary landscaping elements to align with the planner’s décor vision • Adapted in real time to accommodate increased guest count and evolving needs • Maintained event timing and flow, resulting in a smooth and successful celebration Importantly, no concerns were brought to our attention during the event, despite multiple check-ins from our team. The bride shared onsite that she had a great experience, which remains our primary priority. Following the event, we took time to carefully review and investigate each concern raised, including internal discussions and a detailed review of execution. This response reflects that due diligence. Château1870 is intentionally designed as a boutique, multi-room venue for intimate gatherings, offering a curated, immersive environment rather than a traditional ballroom setting. We remain proud of the many celebrations we’ve hosted and our consistent commitment to delivering thoughtful, well-executed, and memorable experiences. Significant Lapses in Professional Standards

When my husband and I booked Chateau1870 for our wedding, we were disappointed by their disorganized, misleading, and disrespectful communication style. While the physical space served its purpose, the venue's permanent decor compromised the blank slate we were expecting. Their rigid sales tactics and numerous fees forced us to be hyperorganized, but they consistently ignored our detailed planning documents. As a medical student, I found the management's lack of professionalism and decorum unacceptable. Despite paying a 500 coordination fee, the actual day-of execution was a mess - my processional music was botched due to technical negligence, staff were unprepared upon our arrival, and they even lost some of our personal property. Most alarmingly, the staff made disparaging remarks about my family and were seen consuming alcohol while on duty. I would strongly advise couples to avoid Chateau1870 if they expect a stress-free, professionally managed event.

Thank you Bride for your feedback. You, your husband and Chateau1870 were absolutely stunning. We appreciate you entrusting us. First and foremost, the wedding day itself was on time and beautifully executed—something experienced by all in attendance and not in dispute. Our priority is always to ensure the couple has a meaningful and memorable celebration, and we are pleased that outcome was achieved. To provide important context for future couples, several elements of this event operated outside of our established best practices, which are designed to ensure a seamless experience: • The finalized timeline was received two days prior to the event, limiting full coordination across all parties • A rehearsal was recommended, however key members of the wedding party were unable to attend • Members of the wedding party were also responsible for décor setup and execution, whereas we consistently recommend separating these responsibilities to avoid complexity and allow guests to remain present • The event exceeded the originally communicated guest count, impacting flow within an intimate, multi-room environment Despite these factors, we proactively adjusted by staffing the event with five team members—above our standard level—to support execution. Where our team went above and beyond: • Provided complimentary early access and extended departure time to support setup and breakdown • Transitioned to an elevated table-side service model at no additional cost to enhance guest experience • Painted the courtyard and added complementary landscaping to align with the planner’s décor vision • Adapted in real time to evolving needs while maintaining event timing and overall flow Importantly, no concerns were brought to our attention during the event, despite multiple check-ins from our team. The bride shared onsite that she had a great experience, which remains our primary priority. Following the event, we conducted a thorough internal review, including staff interviews and a detailed assessment of execution. This response reflects that due diligence. Château1870 is intentionally designed as a boutique, multi-room venue for intimate gatherings, offering a curated and immersive environment rather than a traditional ballroom setting. We remain committed to delivering thoughtful, well-executed, and memorable experiences, as reflected in our body of work and Best of Zola 2025 and 2026. James and Arlene Clinkscales, Owners
