Xiaoqi ('cho-chee') is an editorial photographer with a documentary approach based in Charlottesville, VA. Xiaoqi and her team are available for celebrations throughout Virginia, DC, NYC, and destinations worldwide.

Hi! I’m Xiaoqi ('cho-chee'; she/hers). I’m known for candid storytelling that captures all the beauty and feeling of the day as it unfolds. But I’ll also lead with posing guidance for artful portraits and gorgeous family formals. My calm energy and cultural expertise helps me easily fit into any celebration and give my couples an incredible experience. Though based on the East Coast, I’m passport-ready to meet you wherever you are and am fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.

    Best Person for the Best Day

    Xiaoqi is simply amazing - professional, friendly, able to seemingly be in three places at once without ever getting in the way or making the presence of a photographer overt or disruptive to special moments. We had such a great experience working with Xiaoqi, have recommended her to others, and have subsequently had the pleasure of seeing her again at the weddings of our friends! Can't recommend highly enough.

    An amazing photographer who captures your vision

    Xiaoqi is an amazing photographer. We did an obstacle course race for our wedding and she followed us more than 3 miles taking photos and action shots of us and our party. She handled the reception photos as well. She was communicative, fun, open to crazy ideas and gave us amazing photos. She is a treasure and you will love her art!
