My goal is to give you a wedding album that not only has great photos, but captures your emotions and feelings through the day. I want you to be able to go through your photos and remember how you felt for each one.

I prefer to operate behind the scenes. I photograph on longer lenses typically to stay out of the way. This way I do not block anyone's view and am not "in the way" during the ceremony. It also allows for more natural photos when taking candids of you and your guests.

    Beautiful, stress-free amazing wedding photography

    Our experience with Old North State Photography was truly exceptional. From the very beginning, Justin was incredibly relaxed, totally attuned to what we wanted, and felt like a natural part of our special day. The quality of his work was simply stunning - he captured the day in a way that was both sophisticated and effortlessly natural. Justin genuinely made us laugh throughout the process, helped us take the most beautiful, natural-looking photos, and multiple guests commented on how great he was to work with and simply have around. He was always right where he needed to be without ever intruding on the moment, with a great sense of humor and a relaxed but attentive approach that was perfect for what we wanted. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer to be there to capture our wedding day.

    Captured us beautifully!

    From the moment we first reached out to Old North State Photography, their communication was clear and quick. Justin was easy to work with, engaging us throughout the photoshoot and capturing us candidly for our engagement pictures! He guided us on the best time of day for lighting to bring out the most beautiful pictures, and the edits were brilliant, making our pictures pop with the stunning backdrop of the North Carolina Museum of Art. We are thrilled with the final results and would highly recommend Old North State Photography to any couple looking for an exceptional photography experience.

    Great person and great photographer !

    Justin was awesome—he was fun to work with and was very efficient with time. We did photos after the ceremony and it was a breeze. He even sent us a few photos that night.

    Everything and more!

    Justin was extremely easy to work with! I can agree with others that have said he is one of your stress-free vendors. When I received my wedding photos back it felt like I was reliving my wedding day, he captured so many moments that I will be forever grateful to have on camera. There are so many photos that I adore from our big day, it’s impossible to pick a favorite. The process from booking, to our engagement shoot, and the big day was seamless. I would highly recommend Old North State Photography!!!!

    Great Photographs - Family Loved Justin

    Justin was amazing throughout the wedding planning process. As part of the package he took our engagement photos, this was to help get to know us and what we liked and didn't like. I think this was part of the reason we were so comfortable during the wedding. My family really enjoyed interacting with Justin and was amazing with how many photos he took during the ceremony and at the reception. We also had a 2 hour gap between the ceremony and reception, and I think that helped with taking out time to get all the family photograph and couple pictures. During the engagement and ceremony we had out dog involved, and got some amazing photos with Lilly, which was great. Justin's style is a little more muted, and looks amazing with the outdoor locations we choose for the engagement and ceremony. He did a great job of capturing both posed and candid photos, and helped us get comfortable with the 'posed candid' photos of us walking or goofing off. Can't wait to get the rest of our wedding photos, but the engagement and sample we've gotten was amazing.
