Karen Wise has been photographing weddings for the past 20 years. Shortly after graduating from RISD, she moved to NYC to assist several renowned fashion and still life photographers while building her wedding photography business. Her wedding work has a unique, colorful and elegant fine art aesthetic. “I love weddings because I get to use ALL of my technical skills as a photographer. During the wedding day I shoot portraits, still life and documentary images which keep me on my toes! I love to connect and meet my clients' cherished friends and family. It's an honor to be put in the role of capturing a couple’s most special moments.”

Every wedding is filled with happiness and yet can be challenging and hectic for the couple. Karen has a way with putting the couple and the couple's families at ease; she receives this feedback from couples on a regular basis!

Fabulous Photographer with Stunning Work
Karen is an absolute pleasure to work with because of her professionalism, patience and kindness. She captures beautiful photos and anyone would be lucky to have her photograph them. As a wedding planner I work with many vendors and Karen is one of the best!

Karen Wise Photography-- Proposal
Karen Wise is a phenomenal photographer! She helped out when I was in desperate need of a photographer for my proposal and was very easy to work with. Her and her coworker played into the surprise, and were very gracious by recording the proposal, even without me asking. I was provided with more photos that I had originally thought I was going to get, and all of them were fantastic. Karen is professional, hardworking, and eager to make your day as special as possible. I would highly recommend!

The perfect family photo session
Karen is absolutely AMAZING. She did a family photography session for me, my fiance and our puppy, Chili - and they turned out absolutely incredible. They are certainly something to be cherished for a lifetime. She was so careful to ensure she grabbed the perfect moment - even with our little guy!

Now I get why she's got such a great reputation
Amazing! So incredibly talented, but also sweet and down to earth and great to work with. Karen shot our first family portraits along the promenade, and I still can't believe how well they came out. Totally get why she has such a great reputation as a wedding photographer.

Yes, I most always work with a second shooter. I’ll bring one or more additional photographers depending on the size of your wedding. This is part of my package price, and helps to deliver a more thorough and better overall photo story because of the additional camera/vantage point.

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints. I can also deliver the files via Dropbox or WeTransfer for an extra quick delivery time.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

In my 18 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.

You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
