Q: How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

Q: Will you edit all our pictures?

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.

Q: How long will it take to see our pictures?

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.

Q: Do you have insurance?

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

Q: What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

In my 12 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.

Q: Do you also offer video services?

Yes, I do offer a video highlight reel of your wedding day. This is NOT to take the place of a full cinematic video that a professional videographer can provide. I do however find that some couples enjoy having the highlights of their day! We do this, and also incorporate some select images too!

Q: Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. A second photographer guarantees we capture MORE candid moments while I focus on the key moments of the day!

I have photographed thousands of weddings, began when I was 19 in Hawaii, I am now 42. I do not just bring good gear and a bubbly personality (so I've been told)...I also love to help my couples envision their wedding day! I strive for authenticity & want to showcase YOUR love, YOU'RE WAY. I am here to help plan, make suggestions if you need help too! As a photographer, we wear many hats. I love the moments in between..the quiet moments. The ones most miss.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me on the ocean—sailing and working on my boat along the coast of Mexico. Ashely is the best!

Favorite photographer
We have loved Ashley Shutter photography since our engagement back in 2013! Personally we have had Ashley do our engagement photos, rehearsal, wedding, boudoir, maternity, baby, and family beach photos a year later! The rehearsal photos the night before the wedding were Ashley’s idea and I’m so so thankful she did that because I would not have had some of my favorite family photos and photos of my husband and I looking at each other that way you do the night before you get married! My husband is really not a photo kind of guy, I’ve had to work at getting him to do photos, but with Ashley on my side it’s been so much better than I could have ever imagined! She really has a way of getting him to come out of his shell and they vibe so well, I’m always so amazed! And even more amazed how well she captures us as a couple, a family and sneaks in some of the most genuine smiles and laughs from us! Every time spent with Ashley has been so memorable and so wonderful, we have the most gorgeous pictures to prove it! I have recommended Ashley to friends and family who have all used her and loved her! She is fantastic at what she does and her ideas are genius, you will never be disappointed. One of the few sad things about moving to Oklahoma was actually not being able to call up Ashley and take photos with her so easily. But we love her so much I plan on trips back to Texas for some family photos here and there! I don’t even know how to pick just a few of her photos for this review!
