Amber Garrett Photography
I found my passion early in life and was crazy enough to pursue the idea of sharing it with the world. I don’t believe in such a thing as “too much” when it comes to expressions of love – especially when it’s a wedding! I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in photojournalism from the University of Missouri, *cough cough* known as the best journalism school in the nation. Throughout my schooling, I trained closely with award-winning photojournalists Rita Reed and David Rees, and I’ve worked with organizations like the Washington Post and USA Today. In my limited spare time, you can find me hiking in the mountains or eating Del Taco.
I've never done anything else with my life other than wedding photojournalism. This is what I was called to do. Telling these stories is what drives me each and every day, and you won't find a more dedicated wedding photographer.

Amber was truly the dream photographer for our wedding! We booked her for both our Halloween welcome dinner and our wedding day and I can’t recommend that enough. Not only do we absolutely love our photos, but she went unbelievably above and beyond at every step of the way (she was carrying my purse, veil, and water bottle at one point, she was my therapist, she was our security guard in the crowded elevator, she was a brave shepherd for my guests to get on the shuttle bus from our ceremony, and that's only half of it). Because Amber showed up so prepared, we never felt like we were taking time out of any event to pose for too long. She also captured so many gorgeous candid moments and it's such a gift to see the weekend from different perspectives. When she tells you that she aims for photos that will remind you “how it felt,” she is not lying. Our wedding album is truly a journey through every memory of the weekend as opposed to hundreds of the obligatory “everyone stand in a line and smile”-type portraits (but of course we got a few of those, and she nailed those too). She is such a pro that a guest who attended my wedding saw her at work and just booked her for her own wedding next year. You will not regret working with Amber.
