My name is Junior Portal. My passion for delicious food and the perfect cocktail has led me to a fantastic career in the hospitality industry. I have been a Chef and a Mixologist for the past 20 years. I owned a restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts, named Betty's Wok & Noodle, specializing in Asian-Latino fusion cuisine. I have been featured in RACHAEL RAY Tasty Travels, THE BOSTON GLOBE, BOSTON HERALD, BOSTON MAGAZINE, and DRINKS MAGAZINE other publications.

    Do Not Hire

    Before you hire this vendor, pay close attention to how he responds to any negative reviews. Be sure to look at negative reviews on Thumbtack. There are tons of 5 star reviews, that's how Junior sold me. But when I sent a note telling him I was not happy because the food was served cold and one of the servers spent the whole event on her phone, I could hardly believe the reaction. It started with a string of excuses and a statement that it wasn't their fault, it was "poor planning" on my part. As if we didn't put months of planning into this wedding. Next came the personal attacks, I am apparently rude, uneducated, a horrible human being, and a liar. I caution anyone considering hiring this vendor to be prepared to endure some abuse if you end up unsatisfied with the service. I also encourage you to skip hiring them all together and save yourself the trouble. There are so many great service companies out there, but this was definitely not one of them for our event.
