We'll make your event memorable for all of the right reasons. Each affair begins with a consultation wherein food and wine are paired, décor and presentation are attended to and rentals are ordered.

Chris and Kim were incredibly involved in the planning and merged their cultures, passion for the Los Angeles food scene and love of travel in their menu and event design. We definitely connected and we understood each other so well! The highlight was incorporating their gorgeous homegrown tomatoes and herbs into the seated salad course!

    Delicious food, a beautiful event & peace of mind

    For a fun and delicious menu, a beautifully decorated unique event, solid staff and peace of mind, Mel at GourMel catering is the one call to make. Mel helped us with EVERYTHING. From menu and drink planning, to centerpieces, to rentals, to party favors, to set up/breakdown and staff and all the little details I forgot, Mel was there with ideas and all the help we needed to perfectly execute our dream wedding. No detail was spared and there was nothing I needed to worry about the day of. Her response time and communication is excellent - very kind and attentive and patient when I couldn't figure out what I wanted! I would definitely use her again for events big and small and would highly highly recommend her to anyone.

    Our Favorite Caterer

    We had a blast working with Mel! She communicated perfectly and responded to our millions of questions within a few minutes. We expressed our concerns with our group having multiple food allergies and Mel was able to accommodate them all. We had espresso balsamic beef tenderloin, miso caramel scallops, garlic green beans, sesame noodles to die for - absolutely wow, vegan bbq seitan brisket, sautéed veggies, vegan and traditional charcuterie boards, strawberry goat cheese crostini, custom breads and cranberry brie in phyllo cups. All the food was amazing! The staff that was tending to us for the night were great. Our two bartenders were amazing. Loads of energy, great stories and really were life of the party. Shout out to everyone at GourMel that was able to make this wedding night possible.

    World Class

    Dream caterer! From start to finish, it was a delicious and unique dining experience that would not have been possible without Mel Walker's flexibility during the planning process. GourMel seamlessly integrated family-style dinner service at our request, plus custom cocktails, mocktails and non-traditional desserts. Mel shaped our dinner into something people raved about for the next year. With a deep bench of menu options, we appreciated how Mel talked us through how dishes could work together or be approached differently. Mel's team was amazing and checked on us throughout the wedding. We wanted for nothing! Her service staff is the best in town. Mel choreographed our entire day, facilitated rentals, entertainment and kept up right on schedule. She and her staff sent us off with a surprise picnic dinner with plates, forks, napkins and wine since they knew we didn't eat much due to socializing so much. GourMel goes above and beyond in every way.

    A Magical Wedding Celebration

    Our wedding was planned and catered by Mel Walker of GourMel Catering. We were overwhelmed and Mel took the reigns. Entertainment, party rentals, venue, decor, valet, wedding cake incredible staff - EVERYTHING. And the food! The food was top notch, world class and so pretty to look at. Our wedding breads were homemade. We still look at our photos every week a few years later. Best memories with the best caterer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mel and GourMel to anyone who wants the best wedding on earth. The best and so nice and easy to work with!

    Mel is exceptional! Hire her immediately!

    Mel and her team bring excellent service, delicious cuisine, and a fantastic creative eye to every event they execute. As a photographer, I work with many event planners and caterers. Mel has my highest recommendation for any wedding or hosted event. From the moment she and I first connected, I found Mel to be extremely responsive and easy to contact. She provided clear instructions and information leading up to the event so my assistant and I would know exactly what to expect. Mel worked with the grooms to create a unique, outstanding menu with elements involving both their preferences and their cultural backgrounds. When we arrived at the wedding, we were completely wow’d by what Mel had created! She displayed the dishes with such finesse. It was all so well-considered and beautifully organized. Mel’s team was easy to work with all night long and made sure we had everything we needed. I heard so many compliments from guests about how delicious the food tasted and what a great time they were having. Not only did Mel create a stunning atmosphere and table display for us to photograph, but she was fun, outgoing, and easy to work with. What more could you need? Don’t hesitate - just hire her right away!
