Director of Events

Black Radish Kitchen is a women owned and operated boutique catering company. We are vegetable forward, queer-eyed, and locally focused. We cater events of all sizes and shapes; we customize to meet your vision and palate, working cohesively with all your vendors to ensure the most seamless, lovely, and rad celebration possible. Our cuisine is diverse and can accommodate nearly any type of dietary preference or restriction.

Each of our team members brings years of experience and expertise to the table to provide you with a delicious menu and thoughtful service. We are coworkers, friends, and in some cases, even family. Owner Kate Romane is a years long Pittsburgh chef and the former proprietor of the much loved e2 restaurant in Highland Park. RIP. Sarah Tafel has been with the company for 8 years and been friends with Kate for more years than we're willing to admit.

    Wedding Planner

    Black Radish Kitchen is a standout option amongst other Pittsburgh catering options- my first choice for client events! Their communication is always timely and detailed. Kate's creativity makes the menu planning process completely customizable. She listens to the client and tried to tailor a meal fit for them. The food they provide is not only absolutely delicious and restaurant-quality, but it always beautifully presented. If you consider yourself a foodie couple looking for something unique, look no further!

    Amazing food and service!

    After a caterer debacle forced me to cancel my caterer only a few weeks before my wedding, Black Radish jumped in and was absolutely fantastic. Given they only had a few weeks to prepare and we were changing details up to the day before the wedding, I expected a few mishaps with the catering the day of. There were none. The food was excellent and everyone was raving about the food even after the wedding. I also cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were friendly, professional, and far exceeded my expectations. Everything went seamlessly and I cannot recommend them enough.

    Black Radish Kitchen is hands down the BEST catering in Pittsburgh, and maybe the best we've ever had. They take catering to a whole new level, with the most delicious, fresh, and creative menu options. Your guests will feel as though they are having a fine dining & elevated experience, whether they are in a venue space, a barn, a museum, or no matter where your event is! Their chefs and servers are the most professional, and every detail is considered! It is truly the only caterer we will recommend, as we have seen what a difference it makes when you hire the best vendors for your event!

    Amazing Food!

    We loved working with Black Radish for our wedding. Sarah was by far the most communicative out of all of our vendors and was such a pleasure to work with. They were easily able to accommodate my celiac disease and other guests' dietary restrictions and create a delicious menu that worked for everyone, even working with a gluten free bakery to help with our cookie table. Our guests are still talking about how great the pasta was! A special touch was when a staff member brought my husband and I a little plate of appetizers as soon as we finished our family photos. I could not recommend Black Radish more highly for your wedding! An incredible and talented team!
