Q: Do you learn new songs?

Yes I'm constantly listening to all the new playlists on Apple Music & Spotify to never make one of my sets seem stale, private event or wedding!

Q: What makes you different from other DJ's?

I like to say that unless you want the typical wedding music (totally fine if you like that, at the end of the day, it's YOUR wedding), I like to treat all my dance sets at the weddings I DJ at with a club vibe, quick transitions and seemless blends throughout tracks, with straying away from JUST playing music! I like to make each and every playlists I use at weddings specifically catered to the clients!

Q: Do you take music requests?

Yes, request are more than fine! I do like to honestly have a majority of the music you'd like played before wedding day, but requests are always granted!!

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Yes in addition to just reception services, we offer ceremony & cocktail hour services as well!

Yes fully insured with Next Insurance Company!

Q: How early do you come to set up?

I like to come EARLY, I'm never that guy that strolls into a wedding with an hour to go. In a perfect world I like to arrive 3-4 hours prior to wedding start time to ensure everything is PERFECT for the client!

Yes we offer an array of photo booth packages, as well as dancing on the clouds, cold sparkler machines, and full blown videography services!!

My style is open-format, I like to blend as many genres as possible to please the most amount of guests at whatever event i'm DJing at!!!

Q: What is your travel and break down fee?

Everything is fully included in the turn-key price! I try to keep my packages free of hidden or surprise fees! The only "fee" that I have is if the wedding goes past 11pm and 50 miles away from the location of Lake Ariel PA, I require lodging (BOTH MUST BE APPLICABLE FOR ME TO REQUEST LODGING!)

Tha Boy Maloy Entertainment Company is a wedding DJ providing music and photo booths to couples in and around Lake Ariel, PA. Less than a thirty-minute drive from Scranton, Tha Boy Maloy Entertainment Company serves NEPA as well as other locations in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York tri-state area. They believe weddings are one of the biggest days in couples’ lives, and they treat each celebration accordingly, with music and entertainment to match.

Having grown up in a large family, Head DJ James Maloy was exposed to all types of music from an early age, including classic rock, disco, pop, alternative rock, and hip hop. With knowledge of so many different genres, The Boy Maloy is incredibly passionate and adaptable. This perceptive nature allows Maloy to read the room, playing tunes to match the vibe of the crowd.

Absolutely Incredible Wedding DJ!
James is such a good and genuine dude, and an even better DJ! The music was fantastic from start to finish, dance floor was full all night long, and the energy was incredible! Several people told me how great he was after the fact. He’s great at reading the vibes of the crowd to keep the party going. I would 1000% recommend him again. We had the best time!!

Absolutely the BEST Wedding DJ – Hands Down
James, aka Tha Boy Malloy, was without question one of the best decisions we made for our wedding in October 2025. From start to finish, he was exceptional. He was incredibly professional, well-dressed, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. His setup alone was absolutely breathtaking — truly top-tier and unlike anything we’ve ever seen at a wedding. The lighting was next level and completely elevated the entire atmosphere of our reception. James listened to every request we made and played every single song exactly as asked. Beyond that, what truly set him apart was his talent. He is a real DJ — actually mixing music, using turntables, and creating an unforgettable experience. So many of our guests commented that they had always wanted to attend a wedding with a DJ who genuinely mixes music, and they were completely blown away by him. We received countless compliments throughout the night and even after the wedding, with people telling us he was the best wedding DJ they had ever seen. Amazing!
James was excellent! Talk about being thorough and really getting to know your clients! He had several meetings set up throughout the process to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it. We chose the option of letting him have free rein outside of a few music choices we specifically picked and let me tell you he did not disappoint! We would recommend him for any major/minor event that you would want a qualified DJ or just pure entertainment for. 10/10 and we will definitely have him again in the future!
