I am DJ Joey B, owner of Joey’s DJ Service based in Durham, NC. I have been DJing professionally since 2005, with weddings as a major focus of my work. On your wedding day, I serve as both DJ and Master of Ceremonies, guiding the timeline, managing transitions, and keeping guests engaged from ceremony through the final song. I provide professional sound, wireless microphones, and clean lighting to support the full experience. Planning is clear and streamlined with an online portal for music selections, Do Not Play songs, and key details.

A night we’ll never forget
We hired Joey for our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made! Music was incredibly important to us, and he absolutely delivered beyond our expectations. From the ceremony to the last song of the night, every track was perfectly timed and fit the vibe we wanted. He read the crowd so well! Top-Notch DJ Services! Great Choice for Your Event
Joey’s DJ Service was an excellent choice for our Durham, NC wedding! Joey was so kind and friendly from the jump, and we liked and trusted him starting from our consultation call at the beginning of planning our event. Even at that early stage, Joey was already advocating for us to have the wedding we wanted, sharing tips on how to structure the day so we were able to set aside time for private moments of introvert connection during a very social, family-focused event. We ended up booking him to provide music for our entire wedding day, from pre-ceremony music (played while guests were arriving and taking their seats) through the ceremony (including microphones for the officiant and groom) through cocktail hour, dinner, special dances and toasts, and the dance party portion of the reception. Joey’s attention to detail, including making sure he knew which specific versions of the songs we requested we wanted to play, and which music lined up with specific points in the schedule of events, was unmatched. Joey’s client portal made it easy to share our music choices for all these different parts of our big day. He paid close attention to our playlists/requests for the dance party while also mixing in some of his own selections, reading the room and ensuring everyone had something to dance to; this was especially impressive given that our guests ranged in age from infants to octogenarians! He was also sensitive to the nuances of a big family gathering: My dad and I don’t have a close relationship, so my mom and I did a mother-daughter dance in place of the traditional father-daughter one. When my dad put in a song request later in the evening, telling Joey he intended to ask me to dance with him to that song, Joey pulled me aside to make sure it was okay first before honoring the request. My new husband and I loved working with Joey’s DJ Service for our wedding, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this seasoned professional to anyone planning a special event.

The perfect DJ! And more!
Joey went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding DJ. The music was very important to my husband so he had curated pre-set playlist to give to Joey. Joey took my husbands playlist for the different parts of the day (pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, reception) and expounded on them! The vibes were high the whole day. However, not only did Joey keep the music and energy going, he was also very helpful as a wedding timeline keeper/coordinator. Genuinely, I think he was more helpful than my day of coordinator from a timeline perspective. To top everything off, his prices are more than fair. I would recommend Joey 10 out of 10 times!

Great wedding DJ!
Joey had a great service, at an affordable price! We really enjoyed having him at our wedding, and he was super responsive to communications and questions. We especially appreciated how he repeatedly took pains to not nickel and dime us, which felt amazing after a whole wedding season of folks trying to up-sell us. Book Joey!
