Hot 8 Brass Band is a 2022 Grammy-winning New Orleans based brass band, whose sound draws on the traditional jazz heritage of New Orleans, alongside more modern styles including elements of funk, hip hop, rap, and its local variation, “bounce.” Transcending genres and trends, Hot 8 have performed & collaborated with the likes of Jon Batiste, Blind Boys of Alabama, Basement Jaxx, Alice Russell and George Ezra, provided live support for Mos Def, Lauryn Hill & Mary J Blige. Our 2nd album ‘The Life and Times Of...’ was nominated for a Grammy in 2013 and won a Grammy in 2022 for our work on ‘Album of the Year’ winner, Jon Batiste’s ‘WE ARE’.

Hot 8 Brass Band’s rhythms are loose-limbed and hard-hitting, with most tracks featuring a sousaphone prominently. This frequently sets up and maintains short rhythmic and melodic grooves that dominate with rippling authority the band's recordings. The legendary group have established themselves as a dominant force on New Orleans streets—the band you want to dance behind during a Sunday second-line parade or witness jazz funeral.

    Your Guests Deserve a Hot 8 Experience!

    If you are looking for an unforgettable addition to your wedding or private event, look no further than Hot 8 Brass Band. I first heard them perform at a concert in New Orleans. When my then-fiance and I decided we were going to get married in New Orleans, they were my first choice as performers. We're not from New Orleans and neither were the majority of our guests. We knew that if we were going to introduce the idea of a second line, we had to get it right. Hot 8 delivered! Right after our cocktail hour, guests were offered champagne and invited to line-up. As we made our way down historic St. Charles Avenue, Hot 8 played a medley of Teddy Pendergrass, Tems, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Bill Withers and more. Folks went crazy. After we returned to the venue, they went into an hourlong set that kept the dancefloor full. Even I popped up a few times to dance underneath the stars, with our stars! We're a month out and our guests, who were a range of ages and races, still can't stop raving about this band.
