Hi! I'm Merida, owner of- you guessed it Events By Merida. Weddings to me are meant to be fun. It's a celebration of the two of you with the important people in your life, and there are no rules about how that's supposed to happen (even officiants can be optional in some states).

“Merida is, simply put, absolutely amazing. When we first started planning our wedding, we spent a lot of time going back and forth about whether or not we needed a day-of coordinator. We’re both queer and trans, I’m autistic, and my partner is disabled, so finding vendors who really saw us and could meet us where we were at was hugely important. Merida did that and so much more and now that our wedding is over, we literally don’t know what we would have done without her. She’s excellent at reading people, communicating super clearly, and solving truly any problem. Even though we only booked day-of coordination, as we got closer to the day, she was there for all the crucial moments even when we didn’t ask her to. Aside from the big things (running the rehearsal, managing the timeline, communicating with vendors, setting up, tearing down, steaming our outfits AND our wedding party’s outfits, and on and on…) (all of which would have been MORE than enough), it is the little details where Merida truly goes above and beyond. When my partner was wildly over-stimulated while getting ready, she offered them a hug. When we were misgendered and we weren’t in the room, she corrected people. At the end of the night when we were both exhausted, she went outside and pulled my partner’s car around to the front door and THEN proceeded to load everything in. When I was waiting outside while my partner took some group photos with their friends, she LITERALLY gave me the coat off her back without me even asking (and it was 25 degrees at night and she was wearing a sleeveless jumpsuit). During our first look, she carried around our two giant winter coats and our two huge Squishmallows (that we wanted on hand for pictures) and never for a moment considered putting anything down in case it got dirty. She held our snow machine at the precise angle so we could get the snowy nighttime photos of our dreams, she bought hand warmers for our ceremony without us even asking her to, she took photos on her phone during our ceremony and sent them to us so we could have photos ASAP, she adjusted my dress I don’t even know how many times, and, to top it all off, she was so kind and good-humored the whole day. Our friends and family raved about her and how well she answered all of their questions and how on top of it she was. I literally don’t know how she did all of these things. My working theory is she has a secret identical twin and can therefore be in two places at once, although frankly even two people doesn’t seem like enough. (Maybe secret identical triplets?) In any case, there is no rating system in the world that would let us give Merida enough stars; five is nowhere near enough. We would hire her a thousand times over, and a thousand more times after that.”

“cannot put into words how amazing Ramy & his wife Nancy are!! My husband and I just got married on August 10th and we cannot stop talking about how happy we are that we booked Photography by Ramy. From our first meeting with Ramy, we know he was the right choice. Before we even booked, he gave us a timeline for how the day would go and we just felt so comfortable with him and knew he knew what he was doing! An of course the photos of his that we looked at were stunning! I remember getting off our phone call and my then fiance and I were like yep that’s our guy! It wad completely pouring rain the day of our engagement photos, but we had so much fun shooting with Ramy and the photos came out AMAZING, so it didn’t even matter. We got to know Ramy more and by the end it felt like we knew him forever! Leading up to the wedding, we talk through a more detailed timeline with Ramy and he was so helpful in making sure we did it the way we wanted but also that it flowed. Our one big thing was that we wanted to be at cocktail hour for at least half. Immediately he said we would be there for more than that (and he was right!!). On our wedding day, we truly felt like Ramy & Nancy were part of the family. They are the kindest, happiest, and most fun people. Not only did they take beautiful pictures and capture our day so well, but they added to the joy of the day. They made us and our families laugh throughout the day and captured everything we knew we wanted. Their energy is positive and infectious and we loved spending time with them. We never felt rushed around or like we were taking pictures forever. Nancy is also like a fairy godmother in addition to being a great photographer!! She fixed bustled my dress right after pictures, took out my veil, and fixed my bustle numerous times throughout the night. I just can’t say enough about both Ramy & Nancy. I promise if you book with them you will have the best day ever!! Thank you Ramy and Nancy for everything!!!”

“Get ready for a good one. I came to know Gabriella through some trusted mutual friends outside of the wedding industry and knew her for several years before my husband and I even got engaged -- and I knew when we did, she would be our woman. Having been a bridesmaid in other weddings, I knew first hand how a photographer can make or break your day and knew Gabriella would be firmly on the 'make' side. She is diligent, kind, and oh so much FUN. I don't want to give away all her tricks but she will make you feel so special from start to finish. She goes above and beyond to accommodate special situations in families (the good, the bad, and the ugly), not to mention all the impromptu things that come up within the wedding process and on wedding days. One thing I can't recommend enough is her podcast, The Busy Bride. Her intel as someone inside the wedding industry is invaluable and we found quite a few vendors and ideas by taking her insight into consideration. She is now engaged herself and doing a series on her wedding process which I am jealous I didn't get to listen to before our wedding but can't wait to enjoy her journey from the listener end moving forward. What we wanted from a photographer was simply someone who would capture what was genuinely rising to the surface on our day, and Gabriella did just that. My husband was likely the more nervous of the two of us to be emotional in front of others and when the day came, it was not an issue at all. I think this is partially testament to how much he trusted Gabriella. All her photos are easy breezy beautiful once they arrive in your inbox (always on time) and you will never get tired of looking at them and feeling just how you felt when they were taken. ALSO! She doesn't advertise this much but your girl does boudoir shoots! Also an amazing experience and a great wedding gift for your honey ;) Amazing experience there, too. LOVED Gabriella and hope to use her again for future milestones :')”
