“Okay brides just book them!!! I wish I could do 200 stars because that’s what they deserve. The amount of people who came up to us through out the night to comment on the music was the most rewarding feeling, because I completely agreed! The combination of live acoustic, with dj is so unique, stood out to everyone, and was worth every penny. The planning process with them was so easy, and they even put my mind at ease by just sharing their insights, while also listening to what we wanted. Joseph perform our first dance song live, which was my favorite part- it wasn’t your typical “slow” song, but we loved it anyways and he really executed it beautifully. We were all in awe of the whole experience. I ALMOST didn’t have them incorporate the live sing a long at the end, but after they described the vibe on our last call I changed my mind and let me say- I’m so glad they did it. One of my friends told me they felt like they were at a concert. We wish we could relive that night over and over again. I really can’t thank Joseph and Erika enough for taking such great care of this experience and creating the night of our dreams!!”

“We came to Julian on the recommendation of our photographer, as we were doing an elopement without guests, and we wanted funky, bold, and nontraditional vibes for our queer wedding. Despite being the first customers of the Althea A La Carte experience, we were impressed with how easy it was to choose which pieces we wanted. We ended up going with some smaller vases, hair pieces, and boutonnieres. Julian was also willing to use some mushroom propagation vases we found, and it was very easy to drop them off ahead of time. We felt like Julian perfectly understood our vision, and his touch made our wedding day so much more our own. Overall, we had a great time working with Julian, and would highly recommend them for any future events, large or small!”

There are so many reasons to hire Cassie, including that she is absolutely a lovely human being, but it really boils down to she will make your whole wedding better, both from your perspective and your guests’. We were definitely that overly anxious couple who thought about eloping at every other decision. Cassie greatly reduced the stress on our plates by doing all the research so we could actually enjoy making the decisions and envisioning our day. Anything we didn’t absolutely love, Cassie would come back to us with new options, helping to fine tune the vision so the day perfectly fit us. When we were worried we were behind schedule or over budget, Cassie and her phenomenal organizational skills always helped reassure us of the timeline and that we were in fact coming in under budget for our wedding. And she did all of this while we lived in California, planning our Massachusetts wedding. At one point during the process, my partner,Cassie, and I were in three different states, but she always found the time to meet and made sure she was always available for us. The day of the wedding, we got so much feedback from our parents and the bridal party that they have never seen a wedding run so smoothly. Even the hairstylist noted she had never seen a bridal party so relaxed and on schedule. “Yin was extremely accommodating and very personable. From the bridal trial to the actual day, I felt so beautiful. She was able to capture the look that I was going for with both a tea ceremony and wedding reception being able to have a makeup look match the essence and being able to take my hair down from an updo and have it down for the ceremony. She is very professional and her quality of work shows. Everyone at our wedding was complimenting our hair and makeup. She was able to complete my Maid of Honor, Mother’s, and me the brides hair and makeup in a timely manner the day of and travel to us with no problem. “Lizzie made our wedding cake for our August 2026 wedding, and it was truly one of the highlights of the weekend. We ordered the cake tasting box ahead of time, and we turned it into a full family event—everyone sampled, debated, and ranked their favorites. It made the whole process so personal and fun. We ultimately chose the Vanilla Latte cake with Espresso Buttercream, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, balanced, and not overly sweet. We served slices to each guest during the band break, and so many people told us it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had. We’re already looking forward to ordering the same flavor for anniversaries in the years to come.”

“Devens Common Center was the perfect wedding venue for us. From the moment we first reached out, their communication style was immediate and helpful - if they didn't know the answer to one of our questions, they kept us updated while they researched it. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient with all of our many questions. The venue itself was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for - an all-inclusive package with a hotel on-site for our out-of-town guests. Devens was the ideal space for our special day, and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. “Our daughter just celebrated her wedding this past weekend at the Kimpton Marlowe, and I can't imagine a more perfect experience! We visited quite a few venues that we loved, but once we found KM and Rachel, we knew we had found our place. I'm not sure where to begin! The planning process was never stressful thanks to Rachel's patience, professionalism and organizational skills. Our daughter lives out of state, and I can only imagine the insane amount of emails that flew back and forth between her and Rachel! She kept us all calm, and we were always confident that the day would be perfect because of her extraordinary efforts. The venue itself has everything a bridal party could want. It's in an accessible location for out of state visitors to explore Boston and Cambridge. The staff are all warm, friendly and eager to help with anything. The price is very reasonable; we had ruled out Boston/Cambridge because of our budget, but KM turned out to be right on target. There is convenient parking on site. We were offered a block of rooms in the hotel for an amazingly good price, so that our guests didn't have to worry about driving after a big party! The food was exceptional, from appetizers to dinner and even late night snacks of pizza, cookies and milk! The reception room was gorgeous and is very easy to work with because of the neutral colors. I think one of our favorite parts was that we had the entire second floor of the hotel to ourselves! The ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and even a room for the bride to retreat when she needed to change was all included. The younger guests danced until the very end, and the "older" parents and guests found a quiet spot to hang out in the lobby area outside of the reception hall, filled with comfortable sofas, chairs and tables. All who attended were happy with the many choices to party, relax and mingle. In my opinion, KM and Rachel are a still a hidden gem in the greater Boston area. I hope this review helps to get the word out that they are the place to go if you are looking for an affordable option with fabulous spaces, delicious food and most of all, an event planner who puts her heart and soul into everything she does.
