The Kayla Effect
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Beauty professional
  • Team of 1
  • Starts at $80
  • Serves Castlewood, SD

The Kayla Effect was born from a passion for art. I have always loved using the gifts God has given me. From drawing with pencils, to acrylics, to selling masterpieces of oil paintings, now to enhancing beauty with makeup! As a professional makeup artist, I believe makeup is more than products. It's seeing the look on brides faces when they look in the mirror after my glam. It's the conversations, and bringing a sense of peace to the bride on what might be a day full of nerves. It's finding and enhancing the individuality and uniqueness of each and every person that sits in my chair. I love my job, and I hope you will love your makeup!

The Kayla Effect was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding day beauty needs. Kayla has a wonderfully personable communication style - she is a great listener, enjoyable to be around, and has a calming presence that helped soothe my nerves on the big day. The quality of her work is truly top-notch, with a smooth, natural, and highly talented touch. Kayla had a way of making me feel not only beautiful, but special - I left her chair feeling confident and radiant, with the "Kayla Effect" in full force. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any future brides looking for an exceptional beauty professional to be part of their wedding day.

Hey there!! I am located in northeast South Dakota! I have been doing photography since 2016 and loving every minute of it! I am small town girl but love to travel any chance I get! Weddings are my absolute favorite, they drive my soul!! I would explain my style as bold, authentic, strong and moody! I’m not creating images where every little piece of it is conducted and posed. I just guide you in a way that gets you comfortable and lets you unfold. So I can capture you, your love, your story, just as it is.

We have worked with Keely, capturing special moments in our life for years now and every time we work with her we have so much fun! She does such an amazing job working with our children (and my husband haha) who aren't always super cooperative when it comes to pictures. The day of our wedding she was there on time and kept us that way all day. She was professional a d had great, creative ideas for one of a kind photos. She is absolutely amazing at capturing those little moments during a shoot that arent always planned but just fill your heart with Joy. We will Continue working with Keely for years to come.

We had our wedding reception at the Huron Event Center this past June, and we couldn’t have been more impressed with both the space and the staff. From the very beginning, they communicated clearly and consistently throughout the entire planning process, which made everything feel smooth and stress-free. On the day of the reception, their team was organized, attentive, and truly wonderful to work with. They offered a selection of table décor and place settings in various colors, which made it easy to match our vision. Their experience really showed when they helped us with the space layout and design ideas. They provided thoughtful suggestions that made the room function perfectly for our guests and all the decorations we had. There was plenty of space for everything we wanted, including a large dance floor that kept our guests dancing all night, while still allowing comfortable seating and room to move around. The food was another highlight. They had a wide selection of menu options for both dinner and cocktail hour, and we received many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was. Many of our guests also mentioned how friendly and professional the staff and bartenders were, which meant so much to us. Overall, we had an incredibly positive experience at the Huron Event Center and are so grateful to the entire team for helping make our wedding day so special and memorable. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding service!

Awarded Best of Zola
Overall I was very happy with the flowers and how easy it was to order them and return them. We had A destination wedding in June in Florida so real flowers would have just wilted so these were a perfect choice. My only critic is that the corsage and boutonnières were pretty used. They weren’t the prettiest but the 2 bouquets I ordered looked pretty good. I do recommend them especially for a destination wedding and low cost.

Flower and oak were absolutely amazing. They showed up extremely early for our event and we had the highest premium package ordered for the day. We had a couple specific shoot ideas for THE GROOMSMEN and the minute I walked in the front door. I was greeted by both videographers With all kinds of cool camera gear and they told us exactly what to do and there was no time wasted. I highly recommend flower and oak to anyone looking at getting married soon. The one thing I don’t regret about our wedding day is using them because they were so great. Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (78 reviews)
  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Castlewood, SD

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were on a strict budget for our wedding. I knew that florals would be the best way to save on some of the huge wedding costs. I found out about Flower Moxie from googling where I would get wholesale flowers. I was immediately hooked once I saw the flower options, tutorials, and worksheets to help plan out my special day. I am very big on organization, and this website had resources for every step of the way. I found the perfect combination of flowers for my boho wedding. I ordered the flowers about 2 months before our big day. It was a destination wedding, so I was checking into our airbnb on the day the flowers were arriving. I had them scheduled to be delivered at the Fedex holding center near by. I thought the company only used Fedex shipping based on my research. I went into full panic mode when I saw the flowers had been shipped by UPS. I immediately called UPS and Fedex, and to be honest I was stunned at the behavior on the other side of the phone. The flowers were still in transit, and no one would help me with rerouting. I called Flower Moxie to see if they could change things on their side as they were the sender. Luis answered the phone and it felt like I finally had someone looking out for me. I had already spent 4 hours on the phone with the shipping companies and gotten nowhere. Luis said he was on it and not to worry. I ordered enough flowers for 18 centerpieces, 70 bud vases, 8 bouquets, and 1 flower arch. Needless to say, it was quite the ordeal to reroute everything. Over the next 48 hours, Luis kept in constant contact with me about the progress of the shipment. I know I was on the phone for at least 6 hours with this ordeal, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had spent about 15 hours talking to UPS, Fedex, florists, and customs to get me my flowers. He made me feel calm and taken care of. Everyone was coming to me with questions and concerns the entire wedding week, and I can't express how it felt to have someone have my back, and take an extremely big tasks off my plate. I would absolutely recommend this company for DIY brides. And I hope this review is seen by Flower Moxie to highlight an outstanding employee with excellent customer service. In an age when it takes time and multiple attempts in order to talk to a person on the phone, I am so appreciative of the effort that was given by Luis for my wedding day. He made me feel like it was an important event for him too. Thank you Luis for making my wedding dreams come true! My sister also mentioned you in her MOH wedding speech. We were all impressed :)

The Talented Photographer was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, Alec's communication style was fun, professional, and incredibly personable. He had a true passion for his craft that shone through in every interaction. The quality of Alec's work was absolutely stunning - we got a wonderful variety of candids, formal shots, and editorial-style pictures that captured all the special moments of our day. Alec has an incredible eye for the right shots, and the final photos are absolutely gorgeous. Despite a complicated location schedule that I was worried about, Alec made the whole day seamless, traveling to over 4 different spots to ensure we got all the groupings and special shots we wanted. Alec truly went above and beyond, and we had such a great time working with him. I'm obsessed with the pictures and would give him an 11/10 rating!

The photographer, Jonathan, and his assistant, were absolutely amazing. They arrived early, were flexible and really accommodating to our vision. They also really hustled! They took advantage of every spare moment they had to get additional photos, and kept us on schedule super tightly. They even carried around things like bottles of water for me (the bride) as we took lots of photos in the hot upper floor of the venue. Many guests also mentioned how beautifully the photos turned out. However, we did have an issue in which, due to an injury to the editor's hand, we did not receive our photos in the agreed-upon timeframe. Had we been informed of this delay ahead of time, we would not have had any issue just waiting a bit longer. The main concern was that we weren't alerted of this delay until after the initial deadline had passed. We did request a discount due to this, which they accommodated. And the photos did still turn out amazing!

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
The Faux Bouquets were absolutely fantastic for our wedding! From the very beginning, they were awesome to work with - extremely responsive and so helpful in guiding us through all the floral options. Their communication style was great, and they really listened to our vision and preferences. The end product was stunning - the bouquets, centerpieces, and other arrangements were so pretty and went beautifully with our color scheme. We were thrilled with how everything turned out, and would highly recommend The Faux Bouquets to any couple planning their wedding.

I’m Edgar, an HTX-raised native with Salvadorian roots. I am the owner, creative director, and lead photographer at Anchor Studios Photography. I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based out of Pittsburgh, PA! However, the stories I capture don't start and end there. I love to travel to capture stories all around the world.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had our wedding in California and Edgar flew out and helped make our day so memorable! We didn't know him before and didn't end up doing an engagement shoot (so I was a little nervous) but he absolutely nailed it. His photos are stunning (I've gotten a TON of compliments on them), he is extremely communicative, and he had a bunch of photos ready to go by the end of the wedding. Both me and my husband aren't great at posing for photos and he knew exactly how to place us without it feeling faked. Super easy to work with and just a really nice guy. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!

The editing of the video was smooth and beautiful, with music that fit perfectly. They even caught the look on my husband’s face when he saw her in her dress for the first time, which made me cry all over again. The reception was full of energy and laughter, and they caught every bit of it. I have watched the video many times and it never gets old. These are memories we will treasure forever.

Hi, I’m Isaac. In my world, light is everything. The cool ambient hues at dawn, hinting at what the day may bring. Golden sun rays catching particles through a tree as friends gathers to celebrate. A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. As a wedding photographer, this deep connection to special lighting helps me produce dynamic visual stories of romance, personality and beauty.

We loved Isaac and his wife, Jing, who photographed our wedding earlier this month. Isaac was super calm and collected and on top of everything. His photography style was perfect for us. He already delivered about half of our retouched photos a week after the wedding which was insane and I love every single one. He was flexible with the 5 flower girls we had in and out of pictures and the multiple areas on our venue property. Overall an amazing experience and I recommend his work to anyone and everyone looking. He was very considerate when I first reached out about his work and wanted to use him and was very mindful of his travel fees to fit in our budget.
